No trees so bring umbrella for shadeWritten July 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was kinda a blink and you'll miss it moment but I guess there are some rocks here and some nice beaches. This rounded off a nice circular walk from O grove to, erm, O grove where we saw many dragonflies and a fox run quickly across the road.Written September 12, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cris SGuimaraes, Portugal7 contributionsWe were amazed and suprised when we found this small beach. It is so beautiful and calm that it feels that you are in a paradise.Written September 3, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Daniel PerryLeicester, UK62 contributionsMy wife and I visit a lot of places of worship as we are interested in the architecture. This little hermitage is unique due to it having a façade of shells.
Many of the shells have names written on them which I think ruins it a bit. It’s one of those things that when you see very old graffiti it can be deemed cool, yet anything new seems to be akin to vandalism. I understand the ridiculousness of this as perhaps one day in the future, the markings made today will be seen as worthy.
The outside is much more interesting than the interior, it’s somewhat of a standard/humble church which differs from most Spanish places of worship.
It’s a pleasant walk around especially if you’re trying to keep your steps up.Written August 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SistaBlessLondon, UK76 contributionsThis was only a quick stop due to very windy weather but the views over the Atlantic Ocean were amazing alongside the natural stone sculpture. Would love to experience this mirador again, in better weather. Not great disabled access and slippery access to the boardwalk when it has been raining.Written April 13, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Newark lifeNew York City, NY35 contributionsA must see, fantastic. The area and the places to see are out of this world. The island is somewhat expensive but worth it.Written July 9, 2013This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Daniel PerryLeicester, UK62 contributionsWe took the boat from O Grove, the fee also covered mussels and wine on the return.
On the way to the island, we were delighted to see dolphins swimming behind the boat. Unfortunately I failed to capture a decent photo of them.
The island itself is very peaceful and interesting, the guided walk is well worth it to learn the history of the island. Finishing at the museum, which has a beach in front of it.
The museum has a decent collection albeit not fully supported with any text. There’s the odd bit of information which is welcome. This is one little trip that I would suggest to anyone with an interest in botany and/or history. Well worth it!Written August 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Friendly staff 15 euros for an Adult to enter very quiet on the day we went out lease note they do close at 2pm and open later again in the dayWritten September 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Daniel PerryLeicester, UK62 contributionsUsing ‘museum’ in the title is a bit of a stretch.
Yes, it does have information and items from the past but there’s not very much. It is much more a shop with some antiques thrown in for good measure.
If you’re visiting the hermitage then you might as well pop in but I wouldn’t get my hopes up. Unless you want to buy some soap, if that’s the case: you’ll love it.Written August 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
