Monkland Avenue is filled with shops, cafes, restaurants, great croissant bakeries, a beigel bakery and a lot more and with a frequent bus line (103). It is a nice stroll taking you all the way from Villa Marie metro station to the public library and public pool. Very nice neighborhood to visit if you are in the NDG area.

We recently had the opportunity to attend a concert (A Shakespearian Night's Dream) of the Orchestre Metropolitain de Montreal in the Church of Saint-Sixte in the Saint-Laurent Borough of Montreal.
That evening the orchestra was superbly directed by Alexander Shelley who is since 2015 Music Director of Canada's National Arts Centre orchestra and featured a performance by Montreal-born famous clarinet David Dias Da Silva.
The concert was outstanding from beginning to end and the acoustic in this neighbourhood church was great.
What was even greater was the price we paid to enjoy an amazing concert by a great orchestra, that is $16 per person (the senior rate).
This concert was part and parcel of the OMM tour in eight boroughs to bring the symphonic experience to Montrealers in their neighborhood.

Love this outdoor 50 m swim pool. Clean, friendly staff and safe.

It is open only during the Summer but well worth the visit.

I did my length swim from the opening time at 11:30 am and did not find the place crowded.
They also have a great are for children.

Chabad NDG is an incredible place. If you are in Montreal you must try their Friday night or Saturday prayers. Maybe you’d like a Shabbat dinner or a social event. Relationships classes, Kabbalah classes, holiday celebrations. The people are amazing and community is warm and friendly. I would check the website to see what’s happening this week.

As they say at this club, there are only two types of music... Good or bad ... This club does the good, all genres, by great musicians, where you can dance if you want to.,. In the best most unpretentious way. A bar who's motto is "Wheel people, Wheel music" works hard to live up to this. Enjoy every moment at the club. A diamond in the community.

This is a fantastic auction house located a relatively short distance from downtown Montreal. Was accessible by public transit which is safe and easy to use in Montreal. Talked with one of the owners before the auction, he was very helpful and knowledgeable. Auction was interesting with a great assortment of items. Great place to pickup some unique items. Purchased an Eskimo soapstone sculpture for a bargain compared to retail prices (About half the price). Combines entertainment, shopping and vintage collecting in visit. Would recommend if you are visiting Montreal for a few days.

Booked the afternoon to myself for a sea salt exfolitaion and a mud wrap. Victoria was kind and knew what she was doing. The combination did a great job on my skin which feels great now. The bed I was on was a bit hard and I always has to fight to maintain my arms next to my body and not flip off the table (maybe should have been tucked in before Victoria left me for about 20 minutes). Never the less I was satisfied with the experience.
The only really uncomfortable time was when I hit the shower. I almost burnt my self trying to shower off the mud. When I got into the shower already started for me , the temp knob was fixed on the hottest setting and I couldn't get it to get back a normal temperature. I had to get out of the shower and call for help. Victoria came back and sprayed on some Jiggalo and got it to move again. Ouch. All in all, I'd got back, maybe next tie just for massages.

Honey Martin's is one of my oldest friend's neighbourhood bar. There is quite a variety of people it serves-young, old, trendy, old fogies like me. The first time I went, in 2022, the service was friendly and so were the customers. The beer is good and so is the music. I will definitely make it a regular stop when I'm in Montreal.

Melissa took us on an amazing food tour with our vegetarian grand daughter. The food was spectacular, Melissa’s in depth knowledge of the area made it even better! Many thanks

Walking from one park or square to the other, enjoying the contrasts between old and new (up to skyscrapers), learning about Montreal's history and enjoying the friendly atmosphere and the people of Montreal.

Wednesday nights are martini nights. Great deal. 6$ a martini and the martinis are good, not watered down at all. I was with some friends. There was a sports game on so it was a bit crowded and loud. When the game finished the noise died down a bit. The food is great! We shared a veggie burger which was not on the menu, the fajita is amazing and these little jalapeño popper things. The food was excellent and the service was good. My issue was what happened at the end of the night when we had to ask for the bill 3 times and they gave us a hard time about splitting the bill. We were aggravated and tired because we wanted to leave and we were waiting for the bill for a long time! That was the only downer of the evening. If you want to split a bill make sure you tell them at the beginning of the night or it just might ruin your evening.

Old nostalgic bowling alley, lots of lanes, big & small balls, arcade room, pool table, snack bar is cash only, but they take credit cards for shoe rental ($2.50 w/txs) and games (3 frames for $10.50). Ask for their seniors' rate, which = $9.66 for both shoe rental + 3 games. 4 of us bowled on Sunday morning (11:30), and had the misfortune of being assigned an alley quite close to a little kids' b-day party. A couple of these youngsters started using our lane (they have no clue, and there were not enough parents there to yell at them). We requested a lane change, far away from any kids' parties, no problem. They're open 8am-3am every day. Used to bowl here back in the day, hope they never close the place down. Oh, and my brother won $20 at one of the game machines, don't know which one.
