Baggers are finally sensing an end to the misery. Well done Carlton, well done.

Does this mean they no longer have the blues. What paradox is this?

Don't worry, anyone born in the 90s or later will still be suffering generational trauma for a while

That’s all I ask for. People to share in my misery

Premiershipless since ‘95. 😭😭🤝

Dude, I'm so uncomfortable with receiving genuine compliments about Carlton. It almost feels wrong

It's a good number but nothing close to the juggernaut of the comp, Tasmania

What happens when you start playing for THE EMBLEM

The players care. They give a rat's backside

Playing for an emblem perchance?

“You can’t just say perchance”

A lot of teams hitting 100k lately. Seems like a lot of teams are hitting high numbers in general. AFL doing well

The three game memberships certainly help the numbers but your point is still true, that and attendance numbers through the roof.

Population growth, better broadcasting certainly helping.

More importantly teams are doing all kinds of bookkeeping gymnastics to pump the numbers lol. Pet and baby memberships, single or three game memberships. It doesn’t mean nothing but it’s misleading

Edited

Also a Carlton membership costs $235 and gets you $1,000 cash back when buying a new Hyundai.

Source: my wife just became a Carlton member today.

Kayo too, or does cash back not work with the digital membership?

Need to be 2 years continuous for the digital membership to count for the $1k.

The true membership tally is the post audit ones as they only count $50 or above memberships. Generally most reported memberships are pretty close to the audited ones anyway.

Carlton club figures throughout pre-season and the season (member number is displayed on the membership website each week) have been the same as the AFL Audit for almost a decade now.

Most clubs are in line, although you still had the pies saying 80k every year up until like 2016 or so and then the audit confirming that at the end of the year or not.

Or the Crows saying 80k in preseason once because of the email list but the audit saying the real number in August (was like 45k?)

The AFL audit has changed the requirements. All you need is a contact details to constitute a member, no money.

Under the current rules, Tasmania actually is the largest club for memberships.

Didn't this change under Covid? They muddied the membership again and removed a lot of the reporting restrictions.

Not the $50 to be counted post audit i don't think

Dogs are fluffing out their stats with kayo and animal memberships.

Isn’t it still only the 4 clubs? And eagles/richmond have been in the club for 6 years

Pretty impressive considering they were hovering around 60k in 2020.

Big spike in the past 4 years.

Coming out of the woodwork, some might say.

u/HomerJBagger avatar

Coming out of hiding, and why not!

And were about 38,000 in 2010.

LFGB!

Alright which team is next

STRONGER TOGETHER

Funny how any other team would be called bandwagoners

Toot toot!

The lid is off!

Genuinely strange to think Carlton have emerged from the other side of the tunnel. They're actually good again

Must be purchasing that Bandwagon membership pack.

Youre just salty that people cared about Tasmania but not about you. Maybe you'll get there one day

Despite the membership rise, they still can't afford to spell out 100,000 on the banner. Digits ain't cheap!

Carlton is a terrible football club, why would anyone want to follow them?

u/LazyCamoranesi avatar

It’s a great question, but I’d put it down to the lack of recent race-based scandals

Least our super fans don't have to leave the country because they are sex offenders, lol

I hear a lot of North supporters jumping ship across Flemington Road into the Carlton juggernaut now that the blues are on the brink of success
