East of England weather forecast

Headline:

Clear in the east. Cloud and rain further west.

This Evening and Tonight:

Gradually becoming generally more cloudy overnight across central and western parts, with occasional rain and drizzle edging southeast. Drier, clearer conditions surviving longest in the far east to give a frost here by dawn. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

Tuesday:

Cloud and spells of rain in the west will make gradual progress southeast through the day, suppressing temperatures generally. Drier and brighter from the northwest with some sunny spells later. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Becoming more unsettled through this period. On the cloudy side, with some showers likely giving way to more prolonged spells of rain later in the week. Temperatures below average.

UK long range weather forecast

An uncertain start to the period though likely unsettled as a frontal system pushes into southern areas and possibly across the UK through the weekend. Beyond this low pressure patterns becoming more dominant than of late with wet weather perhaps more likely to develop in parts of the south and east, with western and especially northern areas hanging on to the best of any drier interludes, though all parts are may see some rain at times. Onshore winds along eastern coasts will likely make it feel rather cold at times, though for all parts temperatures will likely trend back toward average. Into early May, something of a north-south split looks possible, with relatively drier conditions further to the north and the greatest chance of rain further to the south.

Updated:

In this period, the chances of unsettled weather are slightly less than usual in the north and increased briefly before falling average further south. Therefore, some spells of wetter weather are likely for all, but perhaps especially southern areas with the driest conditions probably further north. Temperatures will probably be near or a little below average, before returning to average late in the period, though it is worth noting that average temperatures themselves rise by around 1C per week at this time of year.
