Attending North Central High School has been an incredibly fulfilling experience, thanks to the supportive environment and dedicated staff. Throughout my four years here, I have had the privilege of working with Mrs. Fleming, my counselor, who has been instrumental in my personal and academic growth.
One of the highlights of my time at North Central has been the opportunity to participate in various extracurricular activities, including soccer, dance, and cheer. These activities not only provided me with a chance to explore my interests but also allowed me to forge lasting friendships with incredible people. The sense of community and camaraderie I experienced through these activities is something I will always cherish.
Of course, no high school experience is without its challenges. Like any school, North Central had its ups and downs. However, the support and resources provided by the school helped me navigate these challenges and emerge stronger.

At North Central High School, the teachers are very hands-on and engage well with us students. They are easily accessible when needed by email or in person. The school has support hours. The best part is the one-on-one assistance concerning my academic challenges. I have fostered positive relationships with my teachers giving me confidence to approach them when needed. The worst part of my experience at school, especially as an Advanced Placement (AP) student, is the sometimes overwhelming workload. I find that I have had to work late into the early hours of the morning to complete my homework. However, something I would like to see change is the cafeteria menu. For example, fried chicken is great but I would like to see more wholesome dishes with more fruits and vegetables with larger serving portions. The lunch period is 25 minutes long which is a huge difference from the 45 minutes in middle school. A slight increase of 5 minutes would make a positive difference.
I have seen quite a bit throughout my years at North Central High School. I have become involved in many clubs ranging from Latin Club to Repertory Theatre to Quiz Bowl and I continue to find new and interesting places to explore. I have had some incredible teachers and some whose teaching style was not made for my brain. Overall, I have enjoyed my time and am grateful for the wide range of opportunities I was able to utilize. Although there are times when the school feels less safe than I would have hoped, it seems that the administration is trying its best to combat the issue. That all being said, the administration does feel a little disconnected from the students, hard to contact, and not easy to access. I do believe I have received a great education though, as I have been able to take the foundation of the learning and apply much of it to my life outside of NC. I have also met some incredible people who will continue to be some of my best friends in the years to come.
