Warning: Contains SPOILERS for No Time To Die

Lashana Lynch's Nomi debuts in No Time To Die, and here's what we know about her 007 future and the possibility of returning in Bond 26. Daniel Craig's final outing as James Bond brings back several familiar faces from previous films as he learns about Madeleine Swann's secret past and attempts to take down Safin (Rami Malek). No Time To Die also introduced plenty of new characters to the franchise, with Nomi receiving the biggest role of them all.

Played by Captain Marvel star Lashana Lynch, Nomi enters No Time To Die's story as MI6's new 007. She received the number following James Bond's retirement after Spectre. Nomi originally acts as a competitor of Bond's as they both pursue Obruchev and the deadly bioweapon he developed under M's orders. However, Nomi and Bond eventually come to work together in an attempt to save the world. Their relationship is one of No Time To Die's surprising elements, as Nomi even offers to let James Bond be 007 again by the end of the film.

Nomi's working relationship with Bond is ultimately cut short by No Time To Die's ending. James Bond dies after Safin exposes him to a weaponized version of Madeline's DNA that will kill her and James' daughter if he ever leaves the island. It gives Daniel Craig's Bond a perfect ending but leaves questions about what will come next for No Time To Die's other characters. With that in mind, here's what we know about Nomi's 007 future.

Nomi Is Still With MI6 In No Time To Die's Ending: Is She 007 Again?

Nomi wears shades in No Tim to Die

Nomi's future as 007 is unclear by No Time To Die's ending. She is still a member of MI6 during the film's final scenes and is shown remembering Bond with M, Q, Moneypenny, and others. There is a good chance that Nomi is no longer 007 though. While MI6 managed to prevent the 00 program from being completely shut down, James Bond's death could mean a permanent, or at least temporary, retirement of the 007 number. Nomi joked with James earlier in No Time To Die that it is just a number, but his sacrifice could mean she no longer wants to be known as 007 as she continues working for MI6.

Will Lashana Lynch's Nomi Appear In James Bond 26?

Nomi No Time To Die

Regardless of Nomi's 007 status, No Time To Die could be the only appearance Lashana Lynch ever makes as the character. It is already confirmed that Bond 26 will be a reboot with a new actor playing Ian Flemming's classic spy. While Lashana Lynch is one of the favorites to lead the movie according to betting sites, producers have remained quite skeptical about taking the franchise in that direction. Fans would surely love to see more of Lashana Lynch as Nomi in her own spinoff or as part of Bond 26 in some capacity though. Still, the chances of her returning don't appear to be great. Unless Bond 26 takes a soft reboot approach and keeps some No Time To Die cast members around, Nomi won't be involved.
