It seems that relations between Nicola Peltz and her new mother in law Victoria Beckham have only continued to grow frosty even months after the big day.
There have been rumours of a feud between Nicola and her mother-in-law since the nuptials in April, from wedding dress woes to spotlight stealing, the two have apparently not been able to see eye to eye for a long time now.
A source close to the families revealed to The Daily Mail that there was trouble brewing long before the young couple got to say 'I do.'
As Victoria has made a rather impressive name for herself in the fashion industry, it was assumed that Nicola would wear one of her designs to walk down the aisle.
Inside Nicola wore Valentino couture, something she insisted wasn't a dig against her mother in law.
'I was going to and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realised that her atelier couldn't do it, so then I had to pick another dress,' she told Variety last month.
This may not have been true as the source said to The Mail, Nicola had no intention of wearing one of Victoria's designs.
'She was always just going to let her design something. But she was never going put that on her,' the source said. 'She has too many actually talented designer friends.'
The tension didn't ease come the day of the wedding either with the source reporting that the bride ended up 'crying her eyes out' at one point during the reception, as Victoria tried to steal the limelight.
Nicola was upset by a speech that was said to have been given by singer Marc Anthony, who is a close friend of David Beckham.
The speech was apparently 'gushing'" and made the whole event 'all about' Victoria.
The source said: 'It was totally just an ode to Victoria and how awesome she is.'
The source continued: 'She stormed off in the middle of her wedding reception with Brittany and her mom, and was crying her eyes out.'
Things didn't seem to lighten up as the day continued as it's claimed the newlywed's original choice for the first dance song had to be changed after Posh Spice 'stole' it for her own mother-son dance.
An insider told The Mail the couple initially wanted to dance to Marc Anthony's You Sang To Me, but Victoria highjacked the tune ensuring it was her on the dance floor with her son when it played.
Another source gave details of the music meltdown: 'Nicola left the room because she and Brooklyn thought Marc was introducing them for a special dance to a love song the couple had chosen.
'But without any warning and at the request of Victoria, Marc switched it to a mother-son dance using the same song. Most of the guests could tell something off had happened.
'It was uncomfortable for the couple who were thinking it was to be a special moment for them.'
