What travelers are saying
- LPHDKCopenhagen, Denmark1,067 contributionsA very nice stop on our Curonian Spit trip. I still would have wished that I had known that there was a 30 EUR road toll for going there... On top of the 20,50 EUR ferry. But it's worth the cost :-)
The dunes are very pretty and especially seen from above in my opinion.Written August 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A very professionally and lovingly created museum about the history of amber from its origin to the present times. Amber finds from all over the world have left a great impression. They also have the biggest piece of Baltic amber in the collection. Highly recommended to visit!Written April 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- chrominanceBristol, UK8 contributionsI took a trip during a colder month so wasn't expecting the full beach experience. However, as nobody else was around it made for an incredibly peaceful beach walk. The whole Curonian coast was a delight but I particularly enjoyed strolling along Nida beach.Written March 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - chrominanceBristol, UK8 contributionsConstrained slightly by the size of the house, this museum was nonetheless a great way to get an insight not only into the life of Thomas Mann, but also into 20th century history in the area. I had actually forgotten this was here until I stumbled across it on a stroll along the coast, was a nice pitstop on my travels.Written March 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MerrowmumGuildford, UK1,325 contributionsThis is a very nice promenade with both bike and pedestrian sections, clearly marked as such. There is plenty to admire including weathervanes, houses, a small marina, sculptures and of course the lagoon and dunes.Written August 2, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MerrowmumGuildford, UK1,325 contributionsOur small group tour leader took us here. The lady inside gave us a lovely, short explanation of how amber was created and the different types- we got to handle examples as well as sample an alcoholic beverage made using amber!
There is a small exhibition/museum both inside and at the back of the building which was worth seeing, with no pressure to buy from the shop.Written August 2, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Amy D2 contributionsThe views from above the lighthouse were amazing. Tickets cost 5 euro per adult. The stairs weave all the way up, then at the top there is a short ladder. Avoid if you are scared of heights. Seeing a lighthouse in a forest was a unique experience for me and I thouroughly enjoyed it. The path we took to the lighthouse was short but steep, so be careful what shoes you wear.Written September 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AndrejaKoMaribor, Slovenia1,069 contributionsCan not miss it it is right by the promenade in the fishing port. Also the wooden boat in the front is a big eyecatcher. We didn't go in, because we were there on a closed day, but from the outside it looks nice.Written October 31, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thorsten M142 contributionsComing from the Russian side, you need to show a little patience. And prepare for the border guard looking at your baggage in a very sceptical way. Other than that: Have a nice journey...Written August 8, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- AndrejaKoMaribor, Slovenia1,069 contributionsI recommend you take 3 - 4 hours of your day and do the track. Start in the parking by the art camp, go up to the dunes, down the stairs, by the beach to the city, lighthouse, watch tower and back or even better, start in the city, by the port promenade, to the dunes, watch tower, lighthouse and back.
