About Raymond Poincaré
Raymond Poincaré was a founder of the Democratic Republican Alliance political party. In 1893, the French politician was named as the Minister of Education. The following year, he became the Finance Minister.
He also served as the country’s Foreign Affairs Minister and Prime Minister before he was elected as the President in 1913. Poincaré led his country into the First World War which began in 1914. He left the presidency after serving for seven years and, in 1922, he was reelected as the Prime Minister of the country.
Family
His parents were Nicolas Antonin Hélène Poincaré and Nanine Marie Ficatier. He was the brother of physicist Lucien Poincaré. His wife Henriette Benucci served as the country’s First Lady during his time as the president. His cousin was the renowned mathematician Henri Poincaré.
Education
He studied at the University of Nantes, and the University of Paris.

Poincaré appeared in a 1924 edition of the Time magazine.
At age 20, he became France’s youngest lawyer.
He was made a member of the Chamber of Deputies at the age of 26 years.
