      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Although this action-romance suffers from weak writing and one too many explosions, the chemistry generated by onscreen couple Pitt and Jolie is palpable enough to make this a thoroughly enjoyable summer action flick.

Nell Minow Movie Mom Rated: B+ Feb 18, 2012 Full Review Bob Mondello NPR.org Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie hardly qualify as a latter-day William Powell and Myrna Loy, but they handle the Nick and Nora Charles-style zingers with enough snap that you can generally tell they're zingers. Oct 18, 2008 Full Review David Ansen Newsweek As Jane and John Smith, Jolie and Pitt hit their movie-star stride. They complete each other. Nov 1, 2007 Full Review David Walsh World Socialist Web Site The weaponry and technologies have been seen before in one or two, or was it thirty-five, similar films. This is a work going through the motions in nearly every regard. Feb 15, 2021 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com It's consistently funny, often charming, and occasionally insightful. Rated: 2.5/4.0 Sep 17, 2020 Full Review Ramya Sarma The Times of India It would be far more see-able if it was compressed into a one-hour TV show. But for sheer aesthetics - beautiful people, beautiful settings, beautiful views of New York, beautiful gunplay -- it's well worth a dekho. Mar 5, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member A pretty good action and comedy movie. I really enjoyed the plot also in the movie, it just feels interesting, and the best part of it all was the character, John and Jane is a very good duo in my opinion and the characters in this are pretty well made. I recommend this movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/10/24 Full Review Panda D Enjoyed watching this movie a lot. Wish there was a sequel to watch. Angelina Jolie is brilliant in this movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/28/24 Full Review Natalia R Amazing action scenes and very entertaining. Jolie and Pitt's acting was amazing and the plot was very well expressed. Overall a wonderful movie. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/24 Full Review Audience Member A film notable for one single reason, two of the most attractive stars in Hollywood history, at their absolute peak, making it obvious to all, that they were having an affair off screen. The chemistry alone carries this plotless movie along. Worth a watch Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/24 Full Review Pranay An okayish Action-comedy film with a weak script, but who cares about plot when there is brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were acting together. The action, cinematography and chemistry between lead actors pleasure to watch. Loved it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/24 Full Review Aidan B Enjoyable. Decent action comedy. The storyline isn't much to write home about and the comedy isn't necessarily laugh out loud funny but the action is sleek and stylish and the chemistry between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is absolutely phenomenal (it obviously sparked their iconic relationship with each other.) Mr. & Mrs. Smith really just succeeds by placing two very attractive people in a movie with each other. It doesn't reinvent the wheel but it's an entertaining movie.
