My overall experience at Mount Vernon High School was good. It was like a beacon of diversity and educational growth and from spirited sports events to an impressive array of arts, MVHS is is an school that I say can encourages students to explore their passions.
Mount Vernon City school district is not a bad district at all. However, it is one of the most poorest districts in westchester. Our bathrooms arent finished, the school lunch is decent, but our teachers sometimes have no idea what they are doing meaning that we have to teach ourselves half the time.
The best experience I had at MVCSD was getting to go online and graduate early, while also getting a job. This allowed me to save up for when I move out and get ready for college. Their flexibility allowed me to gain valuable work experience before going to college, so I can work while I am in college. One of the worst parts about MVCSD is the lack of opportunities. Our school has 8 elementary schools that all feed into one middle and high school. There is just not enough resources to go around.
