However, when she brings him home to Chicago for Thanksgiving, her father thinks he knows better. Let me make sure I have this right. Bo is a trans ally, a terrific wingman, an excellent dancer, and stands up for himself?! I guess what I really want to know is when are we getting married? In all seriousness, this movie was a fun watch, minus Sandy’s dad being really harsh and dismissive towards Bo throughout this. Poor guy looked like a deer in headlights most of the time. I also really need to watch Swingers now. 👀

Don't feel like I can rate this in any kind of critical way because my buddy (shout-out Talen Marshall!) is acting in it and I'm so hyped to finally get to see a movie with him in it. The movie was disarmingly sweet, too. Not in a nice core/wholesome way, but in a very genuine and loving way which was shocking. It's plot structure and pacing was also oddly refreshing. Definitely has it's shortcomings but given the very truly independent nature of this I think they accomplished something charming and genuine.
OK premise for a rom com, but suffers from stilted dialogue, so-so acting, and truly bad sound editing. Populated by mostly two dimensional stereotypes and tropes, none worse than the 9 year old computer “genius” who is clearly already brainwashed into his father’s cult of mind.

This is especially true when you have found the woman of your dreams, you meet her family for the first time and you find out that her father is the author of "Most guys are losers" - A great RomCom Movie with fresh ideas and without the usual exaggerations of the genre. Technically well done for an independent film.
It took me a while to realize that the point of the film is that the Mark Berzins guy is the loser to which the title refers. But the irony is so poorly done that it still gets a half star. Don’t waste your time.
