Only two of the lakes are visible. The third lake at the southern end of the loop, Bean Blossom Lake, was drained when the levee failed after several days of heavy rain in November 1993.
Camping is only permitted at the campground.
The Sweedy Hollow area on the southwest portion of loop is beautiful. There's even a stone cove in one of the hills. The northern part of trail isn't so thrilling because a lot of it is gravel road, which is tiresome to the feet. Also the part alongside Forest Rd is a bit underwhelming due to logging and erosion. Perfect length for a serious jaunt though.
Before hiking or backpacking this trail, be sure to check the HHC website (https://www.hoosierhikerscouncil.org/category/trail-conditions/) or the DNR for information on trail or camping area closures. The forest on which the Tecumseh traverses is very actively logged by the DNR and private owners, so closures and trail re-routes are frequent. Sometimes trail reroutes can add miles of road-walking.
