Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/14/24 Full Review Christy T This is a GREAT show, especially the way it tackles the monsters in all of humanity. I suspect, that so many people who gave poor reviews, are the ones who didn't have the intellect to actually understand the subtle nuances and core themes in every story. If you are semi-intelligent, and enjoy the way the brain processes situations, wrapped up in a bit of spooky fun that ends up as an account of humanity, you'll enjoy this too. If you aren't, then give it a pass, it's probably above your level. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/24/23 Full Review TIM M 8 stories, some connected a little, with endings you wouldn't expect, well worth a watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Squid V It honestly felt like a series of pilot episodes that never got off the ground. Every episode left you with too many questions. The stories were good. They were interesting, but It just leaves you frustrated in the end. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review dave n Not a horror show by any stretch. Just another "woke for the sake of being woke" show with some sort of tired, overdone social commentary about how regular people are the 'real' monsters. In no way, shape, or form is this show: edgy, or artsy, or any adjective that would imply it's a "good" show. The episodes have poorly thought out plots, paper-thin storylines, sub-par acting, and no horror elements or "monsters" as the title might imply. Don't waste your time on this. Simply put, it's pure garbage. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member As is usual in these anthology episodes, some were better than others, but, overall, decent. Ben Pobjie The Age (Australia) The greatest attribute of Monsterland, and that which more than compensates for its tendency to the dour and depressing, is the makers’ determination that nothing is to be as it seems. Rated: 3.5/5 Dec 21, 2023 Full Review Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald It doesn't all set the world on fire, but with casts that also include the likes of Taylor Schilling, Mike Colter and Ozark's Charlie Tahan, it's well worth checking out. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 22, 2021 Full Review Meagan Navarro Bloody Disgusting Laws, who also wrote multiple episodes, assembled a Murderers' Row of talent on and off-screen. Rated: 3/5 Oct 22, 2020 Full Review Jessica Scott Nightmarish Conjurings Monsterland is a bleak show that horrifies in unexpected and devastating ways. Dec 27, 2022 Full Review Alex Maidy JoBlo's Movie Network Monsterland ends up as a missed opportunity that will leave audiences underwhelmed and more disturbed than scared. Rated: 6/10 Oct 26, 2020 Full Review Mary Beth McAndrews Film School Rejects This is a series that begs to be enjoyed slowly and wants to creep deep into your brain. Monsterland does not want to deliver momentary scares; it wants to deliver lasting existential panic. Oct 22, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews
