- Ellen LChicago, Illinois35 contributionsAmazing! If you find yourself in Hamburg this is the the place to go! We could have spent hours watching trains, planes, and automobiles drive past. It was a bit crowded in certain areas, like the plane section. We loved that they had buttons to press which made you part of the experience even more! We had accidentally booked our tickets for the prior day but went in shortly after they opened and they changed our booking and let us in!Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten 25 April 2023
- Anthony B2 contributionsOutstanding WunderlandMy niece set up a surprise visit to Hamburg with the prime objective to view the excellent modelling at Wunderland. It certainly lived up to both are expectation and from what I have heard through friends in the railway modelling world. I have been in railway modelling for many years and attended many exhibitions, but this so far exceeded all of what I have heard. Well done to all persons who took part in building such incredible depictions of places, not only in Europe , but of other places in the world. Keep up the excellent work.Visited May 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 May 2023
- HeatherD5614 contributionsAmazingOn a recent cruise to Hamburg my husband wanted to visit here. As it was reasonably priced I agreed although I thought it was be boring... not so. It was amazing. Nothing had prepared me for the scale or the complexity of the railway. I spend a couple of hours happily watching and photographing the trains and layouts. It was an easy 15 min walk from the Rathaus where the ship shuttle bus dropped us off and in quite a picturesque warehouse area.Visited May 2023Written 2 June 2023
- damdahl2058Saint Paul, Minnesota84 contributionsA must see if near Hamburg!Unbelievable. Unlike anything we’ve visited before. We were traveling in Germany and in the area south of Hamburg. We took a train to Hamburg ONLY to visit this attraction. It was crowded. We didn’t buy tickets ahead of time but you can get in a waiting queue. The waiting area had seating, beverages and bathrooms. We were told the wait could be up to 70 minutes but our number was called after only 10 minutes. We enjoyed the many different exhibits and seeing the control room. Even with the crowds we loved this wunderland so much. A must see if you’re close to Hamburg!Visited May 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 June 2023
- jupro23Waldshut-Tiengen, Germany2 contributionsSo many impressionsOne of the must have visited places in Hamburg. So many impressions - we'll be back a second time. Online booking was a little too complicated but finally everything worked: buy online voucher-book online a reservation time slot- exchange the online vocher at miniaturwunderland reception desk.Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 5 June 2023

Soooo many small details, so much passion going into the exhibits. Loved Rio and Patagonia, can’t wait for MonacoVisited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 22 June 2023
- fransiska dg1 contributionOverwhelming experience with a small black edgeWhen you go to Miniatur Wunderland and start at the top floor, first you’re overwhelmed by everything you see. This feeling stays with you as long as you’re there. We enjoyed the perfect views, the tiny jokes every now and then and it’s amazing to see all the work put into it!! All those tiny pieces and so detailed, just incredible. We were with someone in a wheelchair, that made it a bit more difficult. He was looking at the handrailing at some points and couldn’t see the upper parts good. Also, cause it’s really crowded, we were having a hard time getting any further and seeing everything. This part is sadly mostly because of the people visiting, they really didn’t care about us, just standing in front, pushing us aside, very disappointing and annoying sometimes. Starting to imagine why they started with special wheelchair evenings, but this is for us harder since we have to travel a while… he did have a good time, but the people there gave it a bit of a black edge to the visit…Visited June 2023Written 24 June 2023
- David RQuebec City, Canada6 contributionsPhenomenal, somehow still under-ratedThis was easily the coolest tourist attraction I've ever seen. I actually went to Hamburg just to see this. We ended up spending a little over 5 hours there, and didn't properly get to see everything- it's really hard to understand the scale. The worlds they've built are so intricate, with thousands of little stories or vignettes to find. They have a functional lock in the Scandinavia section, and so many incredible Easter eggs. If you like this kind of thing at all, you've got to go.Visited July 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 1 July 2023

We were there for more than three hours and took hundreds of photos. Admission price is very reasonable considering the great work behind.Visited July 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 11 July 2023

So after wanting to go to miniature wonderland for 10 years we finally went. this was well worth the wait.
Everything from the customer service at the front desk to the staff on hand.
This is not just a model railway. I am interested in model railways but this is on a different scale.
We spent 9 hours here.
It was quite busy so hard to see the detail . Every aspect of life is detailed. Myself and my father also went back a second day in the evening which was better to see the detail as it was quiet.
Food and drink at the cafe was well priced and very good.
I must say this did not disappoint. In any way!
This is a must if ever in Hamburg.

Absolutely amazing place! The attention to detail of the models is just amazing. Would 100% recommend anyone go to visit!
Staff were friendly and the place is well laid out and sign posted. Toilets are clean and easy to find.

Very impressive attraction to walk through the various cities and countries, amazing attention to detail, we enjoyed it but the rip off ticketing system left a bad taste. Online they will show several hundred minutes of waiting time, today and any day in the future, over 300 minutes of waiting time on a Wednesday 7 months from now BUT you can book an EXTRA experience and go right in, we paid 40 eur extra for this, went at the allotted time and there was no line, zero wait. A few other tourists at the entrance shared the same system, it is a money grabbing scam. Also the trashy gift shop is an obvious cash grab. I wish they would adopt an honest ticketing system as i otherwise really liked the exhibition

Whats not to enjoy about this place? Does it deserve it's title of the no 1 attraction in Hamburg? Absolutely!
I loved this place - the behind the scenes tour was amazing and we were shown how the whole set up was constructed which was incredibly informative. I could honestly have spent hours in there! Loved it!

We only came to Hamburg to visit Miniature Wunderland, it's been on the bucket list for a while.
The tickets are time slotted so you can only enter when it's your turn or allotted time.
The displays are amazing, everything moves or glows. There are interactive buttons on each display which you can't help but touch.
The workmanship is fully on display, the creativity and imagination on the creators of this work of art is incredible.
Unfortunately for us we went during school holidays, I never thought to check that coming from Australia.
There were a lot of people adults and children, and the smiles and looks of delight came in all ages.
I have no hesitation in recommending this as a definite destination while visiting Hamburg. Just don't visit during holiday season. And the staff were all very friendly.

This place is fabulous for people who love toys and exceptional creativity. It's totally amazing how everything all the pieces are constantly working, like literally a whole city or airport, all set in miniature. You will spend at least 2 hours wondering how they made this possible, I was blown away. The kid inside me came back, and I was amazed.

Is it best to pre book a taxi from Steinwerder to minataur wunderland ,
Or just grab one in the cruise terminal?

We got a taxi at the cruise terminal, it’s a longer ride than you might expect.

We are arriving by cruise into Steinwerder terminal at 8am and I have pre booked tickets with an arrival time for 9:30 -10:00. If there are delays with the shuttle into the centre and we are past 10:00 will we be turned away?
I’m travelling with my elderly parents and whilst we plan to leave the ship as soon as we can. I don’t want to be constantly hurrying them up, I’m not planning on rocking up hours late but rather than totally stress about anything it would be good to know if there is some leniency in these situations.

Do you have storage capabilities for full sized suitcases? Booked tickets for next month but need to store 6 full-sized suitcases during our visit.

I think that is a question you should ask at the hotel or AirBNB your visiting in Hamburg. If you want to storage your luggage at Wunderland, send them a email for your particular request? Succes!
If we get a vip deal with a hotel do we still also need to book a time slot or can we go when we like? All time slots are booked for the summer period we could visit so we are trying to work out if this is a different way to get in.

You can always go when you like but there is inevitably a waiting time associated with this mode of entry and only limited no. of tickets blocked for spontaneous visitors. Any online ticket purchase requires blocking a window of time for entry. For VIP deal with hotel, it is best to ask the particular hotel to arrange your time of visit for you.

I dont have a lot of experience with children of that age, but I would say, that it is better for older kids. this place has a lot of things to look at, but no tuching. Also, you would have to carry the child a lot for him/her to be able to see the exhibitions. To see it all you will have to spend around 2 hours in there, and maybe that is a long time for a small child?
Joe much time can i spend inside?
