She started her professional career as a supermarket checker at Vons, and she also worked as a court stenographer for a short time. Before entering into acting field, Pfeiffer also won the Miss Orange County beauty pageant in 1978. Pfeiffer made her screen debut with a drama ‘Fantasy Island’ in 1978.
