It was removed. It's not in the movie that was released. She wasn't happy it was included in a screening. Doesn't matter what side you're on here, but at least give the actual facts.

2016 seems like a long time ago to you?
Scene was filmed 2013/2014. Screener it seems was released years later.

Ignorance is how skeevy behaviour thrives. If someone asks, please don't steer them away from it.
As replies pointed out, the fact that he was trying to tear down the victim right before this does not paint a good picture of his current ethics. It's good that he's now walked that back, but for now, he does not look trustworthy.
Yeah, his claim that he’s been trying to respond to things better through therapy kinda falls apart given his initial reaction was vehemently deny it ever occurred, say it was her idea, use an interview to back his position up, and bring up her relationship status at the time.
I am an optimist, and always want to believe people do legitimately want to be better. Hopefully he’s being genuine here, but there’s a cost to your actions. This may ruin the channel, and I can’t fault anyone who doesn’t accept his response here.
He had 9 years, and the first response he had when someone called him out for sexual harassment was slut shaming and gaslighting.
He was still doing those up until yesterday. Then in one night, we’re supposed to believe that he’s changed?
Therapy isn’t that quick.

It's completely irrelevant to her claims.
Him bringing that up is pretty much what the cops do when they kill an innocent black person. They bring up some weed charge they had 5 years prior to try paint the victim deserving of it.
Who gives a fuck?
There was an agreement. He broke it, lied about it, and gives all indications of having made the agreement in bad faith in the first place. She could have been fucking the Pope for all I care.
Her personal life is her own business, and that you consider it "very important information" is baffling to me.
Literally not relevant in the slightest, get outta here
Sleeping with your fellow cast =/= consenting to your nudes being shown to the public.
Keep trying incel.
I think therapy generally takes a while to change habits that are very ingrained in a person. It sounds to me like he went to therapy in the last day, brought this up, and said "oh shit, you're right that's exactly a behavior I have been trying to address". Although it would be best for him to not repeat such behaviors, I appreciate how quickly he admitted even his very recent faults.
"I tried to destory her character and it didn't work so I guess I'll move on to the next strategy to save my YouTube channel."
Yeah, the world is big enough that we can happily dispose of the trash people, without mourning much. Life is short, no need to waste our energy on trash.
Hurray for ruining lives
The only one who is even potentially ruining MDL's life is MDL.
I don't consume any of his content so maybe I'm way off base. The only times I've really heard of him is this and when his former co-host was kicked off. But the way he was ranting in comments sections about how he always did all the work for the show gave me some weird vibes then, and his two very contradictory and both questionable responses to this so far are doubling down on that for me. Doesn't feel like someone that's earned the benefit of doubt.
I feel like sometimes streamers and YouTubers could do with learning to handle controversy a bit more like a corporation. Make a contrite statement and take your lumps with grace rather than trying to get the last word in or score some kind of points.
I'm guessing it's a case of "they're both assholes". I've watched through all the episodes and Joe just got obnoxious. Always had the most powerful deck at the table and the second someone targeted him he'd whine that everyone was out to get him and just generally never had a casual "I'm here to play cards" vibe. Plus a lot of people came out and said he was an ass on discord including talking down to people and rage quitting/ending discord lobbies when he wasn't winning.
That doesn't excuse lynch's "I'm gonna hang him out to dry as revenge" strategy though
As someone who has experience with Joe at the LGS we play at… this does not come as a surprise to say the least.
Dude lost his fucking mind so hard they had to kick him from IHYD
Is this why Joe isn't in any new stuff?
Yes, they officially parted ways a few months back and so starting with season 2 Joe will no longer be a co-host or guest.
It turns out that most influencers and streamers have little to no training on how to be professional. Imagine that.
When I read this post it reminded me of when he tried to dox someone in a reddit thread over some stupid drama at the same time:
https://www.reveddit.com/v/EDH/comments/r6q556/is_there_drama_going_on_with_the_i_hate_your_deck/hmyvt36/?context=3&ps_after=1638485384%2C1638578077%2C1638760184%2C1639946908
Do you know what happened to cohost? Why was he kicked off?
I think the gist of it was that he was a pain to work with and was being toxic with fans. Of course that's one side of the story but it seemed like there was a lot of corroboration at the time.
I've never watched any of his stuff either, but now that you mention it, Rachel Weeks' reaction also suggests a history of red flags.
you're thinking it wrong.
it suggests that she knows how the show business is and she would rather believe the victim first because a lot of victims have been silenced or haven't had the chance to have a voice.
That's another possibility, certainly.
These are not mutually exclusive conclusions.
Which reaction? And how does it suggest such a history?
https://twitter.com/wachelreeks/status/1503407969698041859
My guess is that he made comments in the past that seemed innocuous enough on their own, but looked a lot more concerning in this context.
I think she was the one who said something like, "I enjoyed making content with him, but I also believe the victim."
Like...why does she instantly believe the victim? Leads me to believe he may have tried something gross with her too.
Part of me wants to believe that initial response was a knee-jerk to 2018 when he had to defend this when the article came out the first time and this apology is more who he is now.
I say part of me because let's be honest which of us who knows him only through a screen can say for sure. Maybe that first reaction is who he is and this is CYA and damage control. I'm gonna take my queues from the women around him and go from there. If Rachel Weeks stays on the show, it'll make the difference for me. If Olivia Gobert-Hicks comes back on, it'll make a difference for me.
I just don't trust either response.
Rachel Weeks already said she believed the accusations and was no longer willing to work with him: https://twitter.com/wachelreeks/status/1503407969698041859
That was before this comment from Michael, but she didn't make it sound like an apology would change her mind.
Yeah, that's kind of why I feel like taking queues from her is going to be better than relying on my outside judgment. If she ends up staying, it won't be just because he apologized but makes changes to how he does things.
I don't think he was tearing her down
He was establishing contex that we didn't know because all we know was written in an article
Yet it's deeply concerning how much of her words are directly contradicted from the actresses own mouth
Comment deleted by user
Have you watched the interview of the actress in question talking about the nude scene?
She brought it up and said it was the most memorable part of the process
That's very different from what the article says

That's because he's been accused of sexual misconduct in the court of public opinion, which means he's guilty by default. His guilt requires no evidence, just the testimony of one woman. He can not defend himself. He can not claim that she's lying without only making things worse for himself. The truth doesn't matter. Countless examples have taught us this.
His only out is to make a public apology to minimize the damage to his career, his reputation, his livelihood and his marriage as much as possible.
He does not admit to any direct misconduct here. He acknowledges that people have been hurt and that he wants to avoid that and seeks to be better. He says nothing about guilt, because let's face it, people make up their minds about that the moment they hear an accusation anyway. Truth doesn't matter anymore. Due process is dead.

More like, what happened to innocent until proven guilty?
Oh, sure, where was he legally convicted of a crime without any due process?
Oh, nowhere? Go ask your ma to wipe your ass you fucking crybaby
Wonder how long this post will stay up...
Victim? Victim of what? God damn that word is basically meaningless now.
the word means what it always meant. you just haven't understood its meaning
"victim" does not imply "of murder or something as bad as murder"
he lied to a woman or broke a promise he made to her. she is the victim of broken trust.
you are being made fun of by randos on reddit. you are a victim of your own ignorance.
And a victim of having something done to/with her body without her full consent.
How exactly would you feel if someone decided to show naked pictures of you to a bunch of random strangers?
Tell you what a screening of strangers gets to see you naked after you pressured into shooting being promised to be shown both and having a choice of which was shown.
If that doesn't make a victim of at minimum sexual harassment, what does it do? Stop acting like a fucking putz.
go watch the interview with the actress
She does not sound at all hesitant about filming
And the contact was she had permission before the final cut
A pre-screening is not a final cut and is used to help make edits before the release
You need to investigate significantly more
Seems coincidental that he, and a discord community, were complaining about their cohost of the exact same belligerent defense of their actions.
Also strange that two sort of odd and out personalities meet and create something together.
Also sad because he’s got a family and everything seemed to be coming together for him after his co-host pulled those shenanigans.
I’m not sure his intent with the scene, and I don’t know the individual who acted in it, but still the concept on paper is sketchy and pervy nonetheless.

Eh I hate your deck is just a bit on the next level in terms of production and guests.
Do you have any recommendations? (Or anyone else for that matter).
I only recently started playing and watching this year.
Quintessential Commander is really good.
They are SO damn good! Anyone not watching Quintessential Commander is missing out!
Closest I've seen on YouTube to the LGS/playing with friends vibes.
Esmond vs Matthew is always good stuff
Seventhing Quintessential Commander ( the YT channel is Games Haven, iirc) - they're a perfect mix of sharp gameplay, and personality. Like, if I ever go to Singapore, visiting that shop is my second stop.... after eating alllll the food at the hawker markets.
Just subbed to them, seems like some good content!
I'm getting really tired of enjoying content, then finding out that the creators are scumbags. Thanks for the suggestion!
Commander Clash is fun for theme weeks and a relaxed attitude. Or Playing with Power does pretty decent condensed cEDH recaps, if you want to see powerful decks and skip the banter. Quintessential Commander as someone else recommended is somewhere in between the two
MTGMuddstah is a good one. Not flashy and focuses on the gameplay itself than the interactions, but it’s nicely edited, narrated, and has very frequent uploads of new games.
Come join the goblin gang.
Shout out to Commander Replay! Underated channel
The worst possible commander show, hosted by covertgoblue it’s great because it’s the same cast every week so you can really get a feel for play style and long term grudges and running gags.
MTGMuddstah's always fun, but he narrates games.
I'm biased because the hosts are friends of mine, but Commander Cookout Podcast is a good one. They have the podcast on YouTube plus some other content.
Mtg goldfish commander is nice! They showcase a nice variety of decks with new and old commanders
Tabletop Collective released their first one and working on more with better graphics and displays!
Smooth Brain Edh is good. Their videos are only 15-20mins
I really like playing with power and splitsecond. They are both cedh channels that focus on the plays but have great commentary and pacing. For casual edh, I really like elder dragon hijinks on AliasV 's channel. She and Olivia Gobert-Hicks are really fun hosts and they get great guests on the show
This is a great statement, but it might just come too late after that initial response. If he had started here, I think people would be a lot more willing to be forgiving.
Or he could have said nothing and moved on with his channel. Every time someone responds to the outrage it just gets worse, and apologizing never helps.
You know, I try not to judge people on the internet. But I find that people who sincerely believe that apologies are unnecessary, and are more concern with feeding "outrage" than actually helping people they've wronged heal, are rarely nice people.
You're correct.
Idk. Most of comments in this show that it didn't really help anything. Despite this allegation happening 7 years ago without concrete evidence, as far as the internet is concerned he's a worthless pile of trash with no redeeming features. I certainly doubt it helped the lady who called him out unless she's replied saying so
Ah, so gross misconduct and sexual harassment are just 'outrage'. Folks like yourself are really good at taking their masks off, and showing their real faces.
I mean, if he had apologized like this initially, he would have came out the other end looking much better, and it would have been almost certainly better than just ignoring it. At this point, he's somebody who relies on collabs to get views, and risking losing out on big MTG creators being on IHYD is a pretty big deal.
A good sincere apology would be a good way to build good will with other MTG creators.
His problem is his initial response makes this one look pretty sketchy.
Pewdiepie said racist stuff, apologized, and is basically the worlds biggest YouTuber.
Man, this show is cursed or what? First you have the salty player who basically bullied his opponents and now this? Talk about falling from grace.
I mean, I'd like to believe him, but this reads 100% like a corporate speech he has been provided with once his original attempts to shut down the issue through gaslighting ("she was the one who wanted to do it") and slut-shaming ("she was hooking up with her co-star despite being in an 8-year relationship") fell on deaf ears. It has all the usual suspects of these kinds of pre-made statements, "I am going to therapy" included.
I won't fault anyone who still wants to support his content, but this "apology" seems so insincere to me that I don't think I'd be able to without feeling uncomfortable.
I mean it's better than the classic non-apology of "I'm sorry if anyone was offended". But given how he was going on the offensive just a couple of days ago and attacking the victim's character it definitely seems like it's coming more from a place of self-preservation rather than actual sincere remorse.

The important part is in the first paragraph of his statement (the rest is basically vague PR nonsense). "I sincerely apologize to Benita for the hurt I caused". He is taking ownership of the incident reported in Benita's account and saying that it was his fault. You can question his sincerity given the context, but this is a little more than just an "I'm sorry if anyone was offended".
He does claim in the Twitter replies that a more genuine and personal apology was sent to her directly.
Nothing else he can do for damage control
ok idk context or anything haha but calling out cheaters =/= slut shaming
