In this new HGTV show, Melissa McCarthy and Jenna Perusich renovate homes for deserving people who have made a difference in the lives of those around them. In the six episodes, they rebuild a home for a veteran, an inner city teacher and more based on nominations sent in by loved ones.

6 Who Is Jenna Perusich?

Jenna Perusich is a new actress who has appeared in Superintelligence, Thunder Force and Life Of The Party. Perusich and McCarty are actually cousins! The pair, both being design obsessed, decided to team up on this project together.

5 How Did They Get This Idea?

Back in 2020, McCarthy appeared in Celebrity IOU with the Property Brothers where she participated in a home makeover for Perusich's parents (her aunt and uncle). The pair were inspired by how happy this couple was, and had so much fun doing it. They both claim to be completely design obsessed and wanted to continue doing something they loved and helping others.

4 The Pandemic Inspired Them To Spread Positivity

According to the actress in an interview with E!, the heartwarming show is meant to celebrate "remarkable people" whose "day-to-day life is just giving."

"Giving everything they have to other people. Giving love, giving companionship. Over the last, how many years, the negativity is so loud. It always gets the microphone and the spotlight. We really wanted to do something to let everybody know, I think even ourselves, and to reassure, there's so much kindness and good in the world, it's everywhere, it's just not always heard, and so we really wanted to shine that light on how amazing people really are."

3 They Are Really Design Obsessed.

According to McCarthy's husband, Ben Falcone, who is also an EP, they love home projects. He states in an interview with E that whenever the couple does home projects, she never wants them to end. Once they are over she is looking for the next thing to "destroy and rebuild all over again." The women say that during the show they're "too hands-on", involved in every single step of the process, even if they didn't know how to do it, they learned.

2 What To Expect From The Show?

The crew all called the show very humbling, Perusich stating that now she looks for little ways to spread positivity whenever she can. Fans can also expect lots of tears, as the two lead with their emotions like an open nerve at all times. The building process was nerve wracking as they try to create the best homes for giving people, and lots of happy tears are shared.
