Mecklenburg County, North Carolina
Mecklenburg County is a county in North Carolina. In 2020, 1,115,482 people lived there.[1] The county seat is Charlotte.

The county was created in 1762. It was split from Anson County. It was named in honor of the marriage of King George III to Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.
Communities[change | change source]
Mecklenburg County has seven municipalities including the City of Charlotte and the towns of Cornelius, Davidson, and Huntersville (north of Charlotte); and the towns of Matthews, Mint Hill, and Pineville (south and southeast of Charlotte). Small portions of Stallings and Weddington are also in Mecklenburg County, though most of those towns are in Union County.
