LSU quarterback Max Johnson hit wide receiver Jaray Jenkins to put LSU up 14-6 over Florida in the second quarter of the game inside Tiger Stadium on Saturday. Check out the play below from 28 yards out, set up by linebacker Micah Baskerville grabbing an interception off Florida quarterback Emory Jones.

Johnson is directing an LSU offense that now has the Tigers up 21-6 after another interception and touchdown off the Gators. LSU head coach Ed Orgeron is pleased with how Johnson is progressing, but recognized he still has more to work on.

"I think Max is an outstanding quarterback, outstanding young man," Orgeron said on Monday. "There are some things he's done very well. There are some things that he can improve is getting rid of the ball quicker. Early on, maybe identifying some protections and getting them in the right protection at the right time, but overall, I think he's done a very good job."

After an early score, LSU has taken control of the SEC matchup, scoring 14 unanswered points. Florida head coach Dan Mullen was asked about the early wake up on Saturday for the game at 11 a.m. Since the early touchdown, it's been all LSU.

"Well, we got to wake up early. It's 11, actually, their time. I don't know," Mullen said on Monday about the early kick. "I love waking up and going to play, right? But we'll see. You never know how that plays out. You've got to wake up, I love waking up and going to play, getting the game and getting home and not having to sit at a hotel all day waiting to go play a game. If we win, maybe we can say we caught a break and if we didn't, then we wish we would've played later."
