  • r/romancemovies - Maureen O'hara broke her wrist in this scene after punching John Wayne for real. He saw the punch coming & blocked it. The impact fractured O'Hara's wrist, but she kept filming.

John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara had good chemistry. Maureen O’Hara‘s character makes me so angry though. She was so stubborn.

The kiss between them is or was iconic. It doesn’t pop up as often possibly due to my next point.

It’s not a movie I would recommend across the board. Their relationship almost borders the toxic/abusive line from a modern prospective. I could see some viewers being turned off by some of their interactions. I know I received similar statements about the physical humor in My Man Godfrey.
