Mary Dudley Obituary

Psalm 23:1

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. he restores my soul.

He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

On Tuesday, August 10, 2021, Mary Octavia Dudley, went home to be with the Lord. Mary was born October 24, 1932 in Pamplin, VA to the late William H. and Lessie Greene Thompson. She left home to continue her education at Virginia State University in Petersburg, VA followed by relocating to Philadelphia, PA where she resided most of her life.

Mary Dudley was united in holy matrimony of 44 years to the late David M. Dudley in Philadelphia, PA. They were blessed with four children who they loved and cherished. Mary was also the proud grandmother of two granddaughters, who she truly adored.

May Dudley worked for 30+ years in Data Processing for ACME Market Corporate Office. After retirement, she moved to Ashland, MS and later joined her family in Fredericksburg, VA.  She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church (Newsite) and a devout Christian who loved God.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her sister Frances Robinson, children Karlo Dudley, Cynthia Barry, Sonya Brown and Sarita Bradley, granddaughters, Tia Bradley-Davis and Tanita Bradley, a son-in-law Vincent Bradley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be truly missed by everyone.
