Dudley, Mary Elaine COLONIE Mary Elaine Dudley, 84, passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Theophilus "Mac" and Genevieve Cook McNay. Mary was a softball manager for many years for Colonie Girls Softball. She enjoyed gardening, playing card games, trivia (especially Jeopardy!), reading, day trips, yard sales, bowling, family dinners and General Hospital. Mary trapped, had spayed or neutered, and rehomed or released dozens of feral cats and was recognized by Friends of Animals for her efforts. Mary worked as a waitress and sous chef for a number of local restaurants, most recently for the Kuhn Senior Center in Colonie. Mary is survived by her daughters, Kathleen "Kate" Bergeron, and Jennifer and Karen Dudley. In addition, she will also be missed by her grandchildren, Jeremy, Austin and Logan Dudley and Evan and Connor Bergeron. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Brianna, Alexis, Lucy, Mason and a baby girl due in February; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary was predeceased by her siblings, Larry and Tom McNay and Jane Zeh; by her lifelong friend, Shirley Lochner who passed in September of 2021; and William Dudley who was a great dad to his three daughters whom were often told, "You kids are my reason for living." The family would like to recognize her special son-in-law, Bruce Bergeron, who she loved dearly and who was so helpful to her throughout the years. Also, much gratitude to Tracey Noll, who went above and beyond with her love and support in every aspect. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 - 7 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. I'll remember Mary anytime I see a garage sale, because we shared some good times when Karen and I tried to offload our stuff! I'm glad she's no longer in pain and know she's in Heaven with her loved ones.
