The Marlborough College Boys’ XI prepared for the new cricket season with a tour to Barbados during the Easter holiday.
The squad of 13, accompanied by three staff, spent ten days on the island where they played six matches, winning four. There were some excellent performances and plenty of highlights to look back on. Master in Charge of Cricket, Mike Bush, commented: “This was the first tour since South Africa in 2020 and it was pleasing to see the tour party conduct themselves so well.
“On the field, there was some excellent cricket played against some strong opposition and away from the action, the boys were treated to a range of experiences as they immersed themselves in the Bajan culture.”
He added: “Playing cricket overseas is special and I hope the tour will provide lasting memories for those involved. We now look forward to an exciting domestic season on what is always a very competitive school circuit.”
