Battle of the Bands

Wednesday 24th April 2024

The opening Sunday of the Summer Term saw the annual ‘Battle of the Bands’ event take centre stage in Court, with a host of exciting and engaging performances to wow the crowds.

The line-up started off with an energetic performance from C2 of Mr Brightside by The Killers ably led and fronted by Josh D.

The crowd was packed close to the stage and it was lovely to see each house being supported. We had memorable performances of classics like One Step Beyond by Madness ably performed by Littlefield and most houses chose songs that could be considered as ‘classics’.

Steve Clark, our adjudicator, has performed with pop artists including Elton John, George Michael, Sting, and Bette Midler and has developed his own successful recording and production studio.

Runners up, Summerfield, performed Love Me Again by John Newman but the winning house was B1 with a performance of 505 by The Arctic Monkeys which really engaged the audience. New Court’s performance of Stacy’s Mom and C3’s performance of Use Somebody got a special mention.

Special thanks to The British Invasion and the The Porter’s Daughters for starting and ending another great pupil-led event.
