My overall experience at Marlboro High School was absolutely amazing! From the awesome teachers who made learning fun, to the incredible friends I made along the way, it was a time filled with unforgettable memories. The school spirit was always high, and there were so many opportunities to get involved in clubs, sports, and events. The supportive and inclusive community made me feel right at home. I'm grateful for the experiences and friendships I gained during my time here!
The best part of Marlboro were the teachers, I’ve had a lot of great teachers in my last 4 years at Marlboro. A teacher can totally change the atmosphere of a class, which has a really big impact on the learning. Not all the teachers were great, but I’d say I had a lot more “good” teacher than “bad” teachers. I think one of the problems with Marlboro is the students. The school is in a considerable wealthy district, and it really shows through the students. A lot of snobby and entitled behaviors. Which has a major effect on your experience in school. I also never understood that, being in a predominantly rich area, Marlboro isn’t really a good school. It’s old and the teaching practices reflect that.
Marlboro Highschool has become a better community as the years have passed. Obviously my freshman year was mainly online due to Covid, but in limited time in school, I was able to get a feel of what the Highschool experience was actually like. I have found that 99% of the teachers want you to succeed and they admire students who put in the effort to reach goals. All teachers provide extra help sessions and they are definitely useful. It took me a bit to fully grasp how Highschool would be, especially unit lunch and getting lost the first couple of days sophomore year, but with the help of upperclassmen and faculty, I was able to navigate without any problems. As I have reached senior year, I have began to realize how little time is left at Marlboro Highschool, and I continue trying to make my mark on those who are younger by showing great spirit at sporting events or if I ever get asked in the halls about questions they have for classes or future years.
