Sadly, in July of 2022, Ivana Trump passed away at the age of 73. Prior to her passing, Ivana gave various interviews, particularly promoting her book in 2017. During that time frame, Marla Maples' name came up frequently. Maples even requested to apologize for what had transpired between the two, but Ivana didn't want to hear it.

Ivana Trump Told ABC News She Didn't Want To Hear Marla Maples' Apology, While Saying Melania Was "Perfectly Fine"

Donald Trump has said in the past that Marla Maples and Melania Trump had a cordial relationship behind the scenes. However, it was the complete opposite between Ivana Trump and Marla Maples. During an interview with ABC News, the late Ivana Trump showed her frustrations with were very clear.

Amy Robach asked Ivana about Marla Maples wanting to make amends with her. However, it was clear she had no interest.

"She asked the Daily News in London if I would accept her apology. I said apology is absolutely not accepted. She ruined my family and my marriage, and she never achieved anything in her entire life. I just called her 'the showgirl.'"

Robach then asks why Ivana accepted Trump's apology, to which she says Donald was the father of her children, and was still a good dad to them despite what was taking place.

As for Melania Trump, Ivana was a little more positive, "Melania, it's perfectly fine. Melania is Melania. She's quiet."

Marla Maples did comment on the late Ivana's comments, stating that she was sad a resolution could not be made between the two.

Marla Maples Was "Sad" That Ivana Trump Didn't Want To Hear An Apology

Following her passing, Marla Maples felt sad about their animosity and took a positive approach, wishing her nothing but love. Maples said during an interview with People, "It makes me sad because I wish her nothing but love and I've never had any intention of hurting her. I love her kids I'm still close to. I love and adore them," Maples said.

Maples continues, "So, it was sad to hear that. I wish her absolutely the best," she added. "I really do, and I hope that if she's holding any kind of resentment toward me, I really hope, for her sake, that she can forgive me and just love her life."

As for Ivana, there wasn't any type of acceptance of an apology prior to her passing. In addition, Ivana blasted Maples in 2017 for her appearance on DWTS.

"I wouldn’t go on that show, dancing in those tiny dresses with the boobs and butt hanging out. The showgirl appeared on DWTS when (because) her ex-husband was running for president! It was disrespectful to do the show. I never would have embarrassed Donald that way.”

Ivana went on to reveal that she hadn't seen Maples since their 1989 conversation that basically ended her marriage with Donald. Maples had revealed her feelings towards Donald Trump during that conversation.

Donald Trump And Marla Maples Kept Things Cordial To This Day

Marla Maples had admitted in the past that her marriage to Donald Trump wasn't exactly positive. However, she thanked Trump during a speech at their daughter Tiffany's wedding.

“I just want to thank your wonderful father, Donald, and the beautiful Melania [Trump] and all the family for holding so close to Tiffany throughout the years,” she said. “It’s been a bit of a ride for everyone, but the warmth you all share together is what holds this family together. If we all stay strong together, we’re going to help hold the world together."

“Let’s hold this love together, let’s hold our hearts together, and let’s just step out in the world and know we can change the world one day at a time with just our love. We can do it,” she continued, adding, “Donald, you may have to do a little more.”

As for her relationship with Trump, Maples said the two weren't bringing out the best in one another as they moved forward.

"I think you always hope in a marriage that you can bring the best out in each other,” Maples mused. “But after many years, we realized we weren’t. And then, you have to move on. You know girls when we’re in our twenties."

Despite the hard times, they were able to keep things cordial.
