KIGHT — James Bruce Kight, of Kingsland, Ga., died Sept. 4, 2022. He was 76 years old.

Born on March 8, 1946, he was the son of the late Furman Kight and Rena Baker. He was raised in Tucson, Ariz., and lived for 33 years in Anacortes, Wash., with his late wife, Cecile Kight, until her death. Jim then moved to Danielson, Conn., where he met his wife, Nancy. They retired to Kingsland, Ga., together and were married for four years before his death.

Jim was an avid fly fisherman, loved golf, and was an active and dedicated member of the Elks in Anacortes, Wash., where he served as Exalted Ruler. He moved East, where his home lodge became 1706 in Danielson, Conn., and he served as a trustee.

He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy, as a true Patriot, during the Vietnam era.

In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by his three children, Brenda Casper of Idaho, Kathrine Kight of Connecticut and James Kight of Georgia. He is also survived by his former wife, Maureen of Arizona; seven grandsons; 15 great-grandchildren; and his stepson, Kyle, his daughter, Lucy; and many dear friends.

A celebration of life will be 5-7 p.m. Oct. 1, 2022, at Laurel Island Links Golf Course in Kingsland.

Another celebration of life will be held in March in Danielson, Conn., with details to follow.
