LELAND - Margaret Loretta
83, of Burnsville, MN, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2022 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease and Lewy Body Dementia. Margaret was born on October 23, 1938 to Margaret and Cyril Ball in Buffalo, NY. After Margaret graduated from Mount Mercy Academy in 1956, she went on to earn a degree in Education from Buffalo State. After college, she worked as a teacher in the Tonowanda and Hamburg school districts where she taught elementary school and French. In 1967, Margaret met Dale Leland at the Peter Stuyvesant Room in Buffalo, NY. They married later that year. Afterwards, Margaret taught in Springfield, IL, and the Minneapolis suburbs. Margaret was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Dale Leland, her brothers, Francis Ball (Patricia), James Ball (Betsey); her three daughters, Amy Crary (Kevin), Suzanne Brandenburg (Dan), and Jeanette Dias (Christopher); and four grandchildren, Julia and Victoria Crary, Max Brandenburg, and Madeline Dias. Visitation will be held at Mary, Mother of the Church in Burnsville, MN at noon on May 31 followed by Mass at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place in Bricelyn Cemetery in Bricelyn, MN at noon on June 1. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences at:
