About the Show

Two love stories, sixty years apart, chart the changes and challenges in gay lives in England—from the era of jail terms to the onset of dating apps. Vanessa Redgrave stars in this “heart-rending” (Financial Times) drama scripted by best-selling novelist Patrick Gale.

Oscar-winner Redgrave is joined by a cast that includes Oliver Jackson-Cohen, James McArdle, Joanna Vanderham, Laura Carmichael, Julian Morris, Julian Sands and David Gyasi. Man in An Orange Shirt will air on MASTERPIECE on PBS in June 2018, as part of Gay Pride Month.
