“Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa” is better than the original in every way possible. It expands both the universe and the characters via reuniting the protagonists with their families in Kenya(yes, that’s where the second movie is set), it introduces new themes like lions having an Alpha, and the score is phenomenal. “Madagascar 2” for its kind is a perfect sequel.

The sequel to the 2005 Madagascar is as spunky, witty and funny. However, what's a let-down perhaps is the story, which takes the same course as The Lion King, with a detour towards Shrek thrown in.
