Tuesday’s game of Pour House Trivia was played by 266 teams across 23 locations, including. a 24-team event at Solace Outpost in Falls Church, VA.

FIRST ROUND:

The first round had questions on the 48th anniversary of the debut album by the Ramones and the human Adam’s apple. The first half’s toughest bonus question came next:

  • When this series broadcast its final episode in February of 1983, its run on the air had lasted just over ten years, or about seven years longer than the war during which it was set. What is the name of that series?
  • 2-POINT BONUS: What was the four-word title of its record-breaking final episode?

The M*A*S*H finale titled Goodbye, Farewell and Amen was identified by 13.1% of teams. There were nine perfect scores in this round.

SECOND ROUND:

After a karaoke audio question, we got into this NHL playoff query:

  • A first-round series in the current NHL Western Conference playoffs features which two opponents that have never won the Stanley Cup?

Just under a third of the field earned their wager while 15% named both the Nashville Predators and Vancouver Canucks for bonus credit. The round concluded with family members in Shakespeare’s Hamlet and the lead character of the musical Waitress. Fourteen teams earned perfect scores in this round, the most of any on Tuesday.

HALFTIME:

European landmarks were showcased at the top of the night’s halftime page, while the bottom section asked teams to identify whether each listed element was a left- or right-side periodic table element. The average score was 14.8 points, but 28 teams aced the page. Before the second half began, these were the highest scores:

THIRD ROUND:

Topics in the third round included country music star Kenny Chesney and Three Clues about the word foil; the former topic had the night’s lowest bonus rate, as just 4.88% of teams knew his latest album is titled Born. At the end of the round, we discussed a movie referenced in another movie:

  • Which musical is featured prominently throughout the film WALL-E, including its opening credits set to the tune of Put on Your Sunday Clothes?

Hello, Dolly! was named by 22% of teams. The only perfect third-round teams were Four Pours and Seven Beers Ago (Creek Lodge) and Google (Nighthawk).

FOURTH ROUND:

At the 6-4-2, 52 teams identified Maine for the full six points based on a clue about its vast array of islands. A couple of wagering questions in Tuesday’s last round were tough for a lot of teams, starting with this beer query:

  • In the late 1980s, what brewing company introduced the Keystone line of beers?

About 26% of the field correctly named Coors. Two questions later, we looked at a sports first:

  • In the early 1970s, which major tennis tournament became the first sporting event in the world to offer equal prize money to both men and women?

As the least-successful wagering question of the night, just 21% of teams knew the U.S. Open did that. This round had five perfect teams. At the final question, these were the top-scoring squads:

FINAL QUESTION (22.93% success rate):

  • Of the eight people granted the title of honorary citizen of the United States, which passed away most recently? This person passed away in 1997.

Mother Teresa was awarded that citizenship in 1996, just a year before passing away. Just one team earned a Perfect 21 in Tuesday’s game: Lone Strangers (Lost Dog). A two-way tie for first led the final standings:
