What we’re about

Welcome to "Cinema Gaze," our meet-up for film enthusiasts passionate about LGBTQ+ cinema.

We find ourselves in an exciting era for queer films, with a diverse range of cinematic treasures to explore. From beloved instant classics like RED, WHITE, AND ROYAL BLUE to captivating series like YOUNG ROYALS and HEARTSTOPPER, the world of LGBTQ+ storytelling has truly blossomed. You'll also discover offbeat comedies such as BOTTOMAS and DICKS: THE MUSICAL, as well as heartwarming romances like NUOVO OLIMPO, SALTBURN, and FELLOW TRAVELLERS that are all ripe for discussion.

This once-niche genre has expanded, and thanks to streaming services, it's now accessible to audiences worldwide.

Our events take place in both online settings through Zoom and in-person gatherings. Regardless of the venue, we set aside some unstructured time before our film discussions for socializing and forging connections.

Our film selections primarily feature new and diverse material, showcasing multi-dimensional gay characters and addressing various LGBTQ+ issues and interests. We are committed to representing a variety of racial, ethnic, national, and cultural identities in our film choices.

For in-person events, you must purchase your ticket, while Zoom events will typically last up to 50 minutes.

Our primary focus is to encourage member participation and create an atmosphere of open dialogue. Sharing your thoughts is encouraged but optional, as we understand that some attendees may prefer to listen more than speak.

Membership is not exclusive to gay men; we welcome everyone interested in LGBTQ+ cinema and discussions.

We are also open to your suggestions for improvement, unique film recommendations, and any opportunities you'd like to share with our community.

"Cinema Gaze: Exploring LGBTQ+ Cinema" was founded by Paul Swanson, and we look forward to embarking on this cinematic journey with you.
