About Lou Andreas-Salomé
Lou Andreas-Salomé was a celebrated psychoanalyst who was globally known for her numerous book publications. Throughout her career, she wrote on topics like sexuality, psychology, and religion. In 1892, the Russian-born German writer published a nonfiction novel titled “Henrik Ibsens Frauengestalten”.
Some of her most popular works were entitled “Drei Briefe an einen Knaben” and “Der Teufel und seine Grossmutter”.
Family
She was the only daughter of Louise von Wilm and Gustav Ludwig von Salomé. The writer spent her early years with her five brothers, and was the wife of famous writer Friedrich Carl Andreas.
Education
Salomé studied at the University of Zurich.
Trivia
Due to the nature of her work, she created a healthy relationship with some intellectuals including Paul Rée and Friedrich Nietzsche.
