Purchased a few T'Pau CDs in 2015, 2016 and more in 2020. When comparing them, found that some CDs were identical and concluded that there may only be two "Live" versions making the rounds under different CD incarnations. To tell the "Live" versions apart, simply compare which songs are listed.
This CD:
The first version is what can be found on this "Greatest Hits Live" CD - a collection of 12 "Live" songs that were apparently recorded in 1999 (?) and originally released on the Gnatfish Records label in 2003. The 12 songs are: Island, Monkey House, The Promise, Valentine, Bridge of Spies, Whenever You Need Me, I Will Be With You, Secret Garden, Running Away, S*x Talk, Heart and Soul, China in Your Hand. On a guess, this item's displayed title "Live at Montreux" may be an error.
Note: There appear to be several releases of these 12 songs, including a later-released 16 track version which has the above 12 plus 4 additional (acoustic) renditions of Monkey House, I Will Be With You, Heart and Soul, China in Your Hand. 12+4=16. These 16 are also available as MP3 from Amazon Music.
Not this CD:
The second version is a different collection of 11 "Live" songs which appear to come from a concert given in (ironically) Montreux Switzerland in 1998. While this other version does include different renditions of seven of the above songs, this version includes four different "Live" songs: You Give Up, On the Wing, You Never Notice Me, Taking Time Out. Am guessing there are at least two different releases of the 11 "Live" songs available, although one is bundled with 8 studio tracks taken from the "Red" album while the other has 10 bundled tracks.
Note: This second version also exists as a 2010 DVD/CD release (ironically) called "T'Pau - Live In Montreux" (ASIN: B0043K8MAS), and while it does contain the above 11 songs, it's included audio CD contains 3 additional "live" songs from that concert for a total of 14 tracks. 11+3=14. The 11 "Live" songs do NOT appear to be available as MP3.
Live vs Studio?
How does either version sound? THIS 12-track version ("Greatest Hits Live") does give one the Full Concert Experience as one can definitely hear the audience. The OTHER 11-track version appears to have somehow muted the audience, which makes it less interesting but does allow one to hear the band. But either way, these are "LIVE" unpolished concert recordings and as such will not Sound As Nice when compared to studio versions. If a fan wants to hear live-in-concert renditions of some of their favorite songs, then "Greatest Hits Live" is one such option. However, if a fan would prefer the polished/mixed studio renditions, in 2020 the two Most Complete CD Collections appear to be either 2015's "Bridge of Spies: 2CD Remastered Expanded Edition - UK Edition" or 2017's "The Virgin Anthology [4 CD]". Not saying either of these are The Best Possible Studio Collection, just the Most Complete.

T'Pau always Wow!!

Very good live tracks from Tpau. Bought the album especially for the last four tracks on the album, which are studio recordings, which I strongly recommend alone to buy this cd, Monkey House is fantastic with the acoustic guitar, and Island (live) is a stunning track. My favourite track of the album is another studio track, I will be with you, so beautiful with the guitar accompanying Carol Decker's stunning voice. I'm so pleased I purchased this album. This is a must for any T'Pau fan to own, but I think people will enjoy this album from the 80's/90's era. This album is great value for the Studio tracks alone. Thankyou Amazon also, for giving me the opportunity to purchase this album at a great price, it's well worth it!
