What travelers are saying
- ferroceneTonbridge, UK143 contributionsThoroughly enjoyed it - lots of see and photograph and, as many others have pointed out, the stained glass windows are glorious.Written March 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Docky BRaleigh, NC270 contributionsWe did it for the view. The tram ride up was crowded. It wasn't too bad. The view of Linz and the Danube River was fantastic.Written April 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - FLnurseERBoca Raton, FL2,809 contributionsA wonderful lively square with a choice of restaurants and cafes. City sight seeing trains and old style Postilingberg trains depart from here. There was a flea market here on the Saturday we visited.Written October 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Son is still about this place as being his highlight. “I didn’t get bored Like all those other museums because I got to push buttons. It was interactive and about science and things.” He says.Written March 10, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is possible to walk through the restaurant to a little narrow viewing terrace and enjoy a terrific panorama of the Danube and the city.Written October 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - FLnurseERBoca Raton, FL2,809 contributionsConstructed by the Jesuits in 17th century, it was designated a cathedral when Josef II appointed a bishop for Linz. The Jesuits returned in 1909. Anton Bruckner, the composer, worked here as the cathedral organist from 1856–1868 and the organ here was built according to plans by Bruckner and has been preserved to this day.Written October 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - iowacityiaiowa city, ia1,850 contributionsWe arrived around 2pm. With the using of an app, we walked to it, from downtown. It is not an easy stroll, but for us tourists it was a way to see the neighborhoods on the way back and forth. It was something of a rainy day when we got there. Nothing to ruin the visit though. And it was not busy. We got the discounted entry rate of 2.50 Euro. I believe we covered most of the property, including the greenhouses. It really was a beautiful place. I bet it would be wonderful on a sunny day. We had a great visit, and would certainly return.Written June 2, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- FLnurseERBoca Raton, FL2,809 contributionsUpon arrival at the mountain station of the Pöstlingbergbahn, it is only a short walk up to the pilgrimage basilica Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows. The 18th century church on the Pöstlingberg has become one of the landmarks of the city and an important pilgrimage site. It is also popular to hold weddings here, both times we visited, there were preparations for a ceremony. The location offers wonderful views of Linz, especially from a nearby platform. Free entry.Written October 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- David D1,205 contributionsThis is a little railway shaped like a dragon that takes you three times around a circuit where you can see gnomes and dwarves doing a variety of things. Afterwards you can walk around and see little exhibitions of fairytales in a miniature town. It is not for everyone, but for those who can still connect with their inner child, it is a bit of fun.Written October 19, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mikkel SNibe, Denmark7 contributionsGreat variety of shops and plenty of parking available. Did not have enough time to visit all shops but the ones we shopped at were friendly despite this being a very busy day between christmas and new yearWritten January 7, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Graham BWelwyn Garden City, UK279 contributionsStunning building with great facilities.
A great asset to the city and the arts.
Unclear why it is mandatory to use the Garderobe, but that seems to be the local rule! Fortunately no long queue at the endWritten March 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Information Center was particularly helpful. Since we didnt have the time to wait for the English tour, we decided to tag along with the German tour (which is also longer by 30 minutes). The German guide was kind in taking a few minutes between her German talks to explain the factory to us.
It was a great educational side trip and a must for teenagers like we had with us on this trip. Very neat, highly recommended.Written January 7, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
