Celebrating Women’s History Month with a Unique Street Art Twist: Jim Tozzi’s “Bert’s Tit (New York, USA)

As we honor Women’s History Month in 2023, we’re excited to share with you a special piece of street art that not only celebrates women but also promotes the message of body equality.

This year, we’re highlighting the “Free The Nipple” campaign, which has been advocating for equal rights for a decade now, thanks to the dedication of artist, actor, and activist Lina Esco.

To commemorate “Free The Nipple Day” on Sunday, March 26, 2023, LISA Project asked talented street and sticker artist Jim Tozzi to create a captivating artwork that would spark conversation and raise awareness about this important issue. Tozzi, known for his distinctive style and wit, came up with a clever and amusing piece called “Bert’s Tit,” which features the beloved character Bert from Sesame Street sporting a breast.

This unique culture-mashing artwork showcases Tozzi’s ability to merge familiar elements with thought-provoking concepts, encouraging people to think more deeply about the cause. By depicting Bert with a breast, Tozzi’s piece symbolizes inclusivity and the celebration of all women in their beautiful diversity
