Lin Yun is the protagonist of the novel The Sovereign's Ascension.
First life[]
In his first life, he was named Chu Chaochen and was the best friend of the blue dragon ancestral diety Xiao Chen. He died due to his fate being connected to the divine master who was killed by Xiao Chen to preserve peace. Xiao Chen later splits his soul into two parts where one ended up on earth and the other in the kunlun realm. He was a key character in the prequel to the sovereigns ascension, martial and immortal dual cultivation which goes over the story of Xiao Chen.
Second Life[]
In his second life, he was a talented lawyer with a photographic memory. Hence, he was able to maintain his composure. He had not lost a single case in his entire career. Regardless of the environment, he would be able to keep his composure.
The last thing he could remember was a sword piercing his chest as he reached the summit of Mount Tai. The strike happened so quickly he hadn’t had a chance to respond before losing consciousness.
Third Life[]
He had arrived in this world, Profound Amber, possessing the body of a sixteen-year-old sword slave from the frontier of the Aquasky Nation.
In a weird twist of fate this sword slave was also named Lin Yun. After their memories had merged, he found out that this sword slave had failed to become an official disciple of the sect due to lack of talent. As a result, he was only permitted to do menial labor in the inner sect, with his main responsibility being maintaining the swords of inner disciples and elders. Fortunately, not everyone in the Azure Sky Sect focuses on swords. Hence, he was allowed some free time to cultivate. In this life Lin Yun also has a photographic memory, which has helped him learn many techniques incredibly fast.
Appearance[]
Lin Yun is considered very good-looking and the purple mark on his forehead which seems to add a sense of demonic charm to him. He mainly dresses in azure clothing.
His facial features were defined, akin to the immortals that were drawn in portraits. Wearing a smile, he exuded an alluring charm.
Personality[]
Due to the fact that he was a slave once and had been subject to everybody's condemnation, his will has been tempered to a startling level.
Even though he may seem carefree on the outside, he never takes an insult lightly. He retaliates if someone belittles him and has an ideology of striking back only if someone comes to harm him or his friends first.
He is very hardworking and is always looking for ways to improve himself.
Martial Soul[]
Lin Yun's Martial Soul is a broken sword sealed with nine chains. As the chains get unbound, a new subsidiary Martial soul gets released. The chains get released when Lin Yun reaches the prerequisite level of Sword Intent. For example, his second Martial Soul was released when he comprehended the complete Xiantian Sword Intent.[2]
When Lin Yun reached the pinnacle Yin-Yang Violet Palace Realm stage, each martial soul awakened an ability.
