Cloud Atlas (2012) Director: Lana Wachowski, Tom Tykwer, Lilly Wachowski/Cinematography: John Toll, Frank Griebe
Is this worth watching?
In my opinion it is worth watching even if you don’t end up liking it. There are some interesting things going on here and it does feel like a natural evolution from The Matrix unlike some of their other post-Matrix output.
As much as I love The Matrix, I firmly believe that this is the best film from the Wachowskis.
Also, Robert and Rufus deserved better.
Oh I absolutely LOVE this movie (and the book it's based on)! It's so underrated, very glad to see it here.
But also please consider tagging this for spoilers... :/
Absolutely loved the shot of Hugo Weaving on the cliff side. The moment really stuck out for me
One of my top 10 films. In general, a film made from a book, as this is, does not cut the mustard for me. This, and The English Patient, and The Luminaries are all stand out exceptions.
The luminaries tv show?
Yes. Ok not a film, but for me it was a brilliant reconception of the book. So I included it.
Just confirming so I’ll check it out! Super interesting title and concept! I didn’t know nz had a gold rush
It’s an amazing book as well. Don’t be daunted!

Such a wild movie, with many intertwined stories. The first watch through was a little confusing, but sometimes I like watching complex movies several times and putting new things together each time. It's long in length but still up there in my top movie list.
