COLLEEN RUTH (BISHOP) ADAMS, 72, of Davison, MI, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 12 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. The family will receive visitors 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County, in Colleen’s memory.

Colleen was born in Flint, MI February 12, 1952, daughter of the late Howard and Lillian (Whitford) Bishop. She was a graduate of Flushing High School Class of 1970. Colleen embarked on her lifelong adventure alongside Joe Adams on July 25, 1975, in Davison, MI. Together, they forged a remarkable partnership filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Colleen’s dedication to nurturing young minds and fostering community spirit shone brightly during her tenure at Central Elementary in Davison, MI. Colleen was a cherished member of the “Lunch Lady” group, school aide in the cafeteria, playground attendant and classroom aide, she imparted kindness and joy to all who crossed her path. Beyond her professional endeavors, Colleen possessed a deep passion for nature’s beauty. Her green thumb and love for gardening brought forth vibrant blooms, echoing the colors of her vibrant spirit. She found solace and joy in the company of animals, birds, and all types of critters, embracing the wonders of the natural world with open arms. Colleen’s zest for life knew no bounds as she embraced adventure in various forms. From the exhilarating rush of waterskiing to the thrill of scaling trees, she approached each challenge with determination and grace. A skilled athlete, Colleen’s prowess on the softball field as a fast-pitch pitcher, her agility on the basketball court, and her precision in bowling leagues inspired admiration and respect. In moments of leisure, Colleen found delight in the simple pleasures of life. Whether immersed in the captivating world of the Garden of Times Facebook group or navigating the maze and competition of Pac-Man on Atari, she reveled in every moment with a youthful exuberance that was truly infectious. Above all, Colleen cherished the bonds of family and the joys of companionship. Her heart overflowed with love for her beloved grand-dogs, Darla and Jojo, whose antics brought endless joy and laughter into her life. She found immense happiness in cheering on Joe during his softball games, standing steadfast by his side through every triumph and challenge.

Colleen’s legacy is one of love, compassion, and unwavering devotion. She touched the hearts of all who knew her, leaving an indelible mark on the world. Though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit will forever linger in the cherished memories and enduring love she shared with all who were fortunate enough to know her. In honoring Colleen’s memory, let us carry forward her legacy of kindness, generosity, and boundless love. May her spirit continue to illuminate our lives, guiding us through the darkest of days with the radiant light of her enduring love. Colleen’s life was a testament to the power of love, and her memory will forever be a beacon of hope and inspiration to us all. She gave love unconditionally, and in return, she was loved beyond measure.

Colleen is survived by her husband, Joe Adams; four children, Tony Adams, Jodi (Dave) Ward, Traci (Ash) Ortiz and Kelli (Lo Morris) Adams; six grandchildren, Christina (Jordan) Green, Kate (Kyle) Russell, Joey Sorgi, Stevie Sorgi, Brian Adams and A.J. Adams; two great-grandchildren; three siblings, Dennis (Barb) Bishop, Eric (Rochelle) Bishop and Cathy (Jim LanFrankie) Worley; sister-in-law, Sue Bishop; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Lillian Bishop; brother, Craig Bishop; two grand-dogs, Darla and Jojo.
