Gabe Porter and Conall Barber each won two individual events to help Harbor High’s boys swim team slip past Santa Cruz 81-80 in their Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League meet Friday.

Porter won the 50-yard freestyle (22.81) and 100 free (53.44), and Barber won the 100 butterfly (1:01.37) and 100 breaststroke (1:12.84).

Eddie Brooks won the 100 backstroke (1:07.47) for the Pirates, and swam a leg on their victorious 400 free relay (3:48.13) with Elias Keen-Server, Barber and Porter.

Santa Cruz’s David Culver won the 200 free (2:00.40) and 500 free (5:29.37), and Cole Barbour won the 200 individual medley (2:13.69).

The Cardinals’ Will Brennan, Kees VanDerMeer, Culver and Pak Saxton-Vaka teamed up to win the 200 medley relay (1:55.03). Culver, Levi Mulder, Saxton-Vaka, VanDerMeer won the 200 free relay (1:43.26).

PCAL Mission meet: Pacific Collegiate School beat York 116-7, Oakwood 107-43, and Kirby 117-11 in its Pacific Coast Athletic League Mission Division finale at Santa Cruz High on Friday. The Pumas finished 9-0 in league.

Senior Noah Wagner-Jauregg won the 200 free in a school record time of 1:51.70) and the 100 fly with a CCS-qualifying time (54.71), and senior Lucas Schuppek won the 200 IM (2:17.09) and 100 breast (1:08.47).

The Pumas also received wins from Finn Levy (100 free; 57.02), Jack McNulty (100 backstroke; 1:04.93), and Shaashvat Shetty (50 free; 26.18).

PCS also won the 200 MR (McNulty, Schuppek, Wagner-Jauregg, and Marco Cruz) in 1:49.62, the 200 free relay (Wagner-Jauregg, Cruz, Levy, Schuppek) in 1:38.68, and 400 free relay (Leo Stiles-Strudley, McNulty, Shetty, and Levy).

The Pumas compete in the PCAL Championships at Hartnell College in Salinas on April 29 at 2 p.m.

Girls swimming

Santa Cruz 100, Harbor 69: Belene Rodriguez, Vanessa Marroquin and Renata Nobile-Orozco each won two individual events, and the Cardinals took first place in all 11 events in the teams’ SCCAL meet Friday.

Rodriguez, a San Jose State committed water polo player, won the 50 free (26.65) and 200 IM (2:24.25). Marroquin won the 100 fly (1:08.38) and 500 free (5:44.68), and Nobile-Orozco won the 100 back (1:13.42) and 200 free (2:16.64).

Amalia Terrazas won the 100 fee (1:05.94) and Marlee Manor won the 100 breast (1:16.87).

Nobile-Orozco, Manor, Marroquin and Guila DeSouza won the 200 medley relay (2:06.80), Marroquin, DeSouza, Nobile-Orozco and Rodriguez won the 200 free relay (1:51.19), and Marroquin, Sabine Wellman-Botzer, Sae Ackerstein and Rodriguez won the 400 free relay (4:24.06).

PCAL Mission meet: Ella Schuppek won the 500 free (6:45.02), and the Pumas beat Kirby (64-53) and Oakwood (81-20), but narrowly lost to York (68-62) in their PCAL Mission Division finale at Santa Cruz High on Friday. The Pumas finished 3-6 in league.

Women’s beach volleyball

At Cabrillo 5, San Mateo 0: Shirley Morrison and Ashleigh Souza, Alana Patyk-Randa and Lindsay Heller, and Emma Martin and Cierra Verdone earned wins for the Seahawks (16-1, 8-0) in their Coast Conference sweep Friday at Main Beach. The Bulldogs forfeited the Nos. 4 and 5 matches.

At Cabrillo 5, Fresno City 0: Shirley Morrison and Carly Ditz, Alana Patyk-Randa and Ashleigh Souza, Erin Eschleman and Lindsay Heller, and Emma Martin and Cierra Verdone earned wins for the Seahawks (17-1) in their nonconference sweep Friday at Main Beach. The Rams forfeited the No. 5 match.

High school baseball

Scotts Valley 8, Harbor 5: Max Perko shined on the mound and at the plate in the Falcons’ SCCAL win Friday.

Perko gave up four hits and four runs, zero earned, over 4 2/3 innings. He walked three batters and struck out three. On offense, he was 3 for 3 with four RBI.

Scotts Valley had 13 hits and stole six bases. Jack Sanders was 3 for 4 with a triple and Nic Erickson went 3 for 4 with a double.

The Falcons (7-9-1) host Santa Cruz on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

San Lorenzo Valley 7, at Soquel 0: Junior Damian Aguilar threw a complete-game five-hitter with eight strikeouts and no walks in the Cougars’ SCCAL win Friday.

Sophomore Cody Houston doubled twice, had an RBI and run scored for SLV. Leadoff hitter Jaden Hunter had two hits and an RBI, and Blaine Mitchell doubled, had two RBI and scored a run, and Nate Lapioli scored twice.

The Cougars (6-12, 3-6) host Aptos on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

Boys volleyball

Kirby 3, Pajaro Valley 1: Senior middle blocker Oliver Annon had a season-high 21 kills, and 17 digs in the Griffins’ 23-25, 28-26, 25-22, 26-24 nonleague win Friday.

Senior opposite Zack Stack added six kills, 20 digs and two blocks. Junior setter Dylan Roche had 27 assists and four aces for the Griffins, who play at Gilroy on Monday at 5 p.m.

High school softball

Soquel 3, Aptos 0: Sophie Seese pitched a complete-game shutout Thursday, giving up five hits and a walk while striking out eight batters.

Dillyn Vasconcellos scored on an RBI single from Nevaeh Martinez in the first inning. Danika Marlatt walked, stole second, and scored on a single by Seese, and pinch runner Bailey Ghigliazza scored on a single by Kierra Mattos.

The Knights improved to 5-1 in league.

Girls track and field

Scotts Valley, Mount Madonna at SLV: SLV junior Kaitlin Seigle and freshman teammate Naomi Seastrom each won two individual events in the SCCAL meet Thursday.

Seigle won the 200 (26.85) and 400 (58.70), and Seastrom won the 100 hurdles (19.49) and 300 hurdles (54.34).

Seigle’s finish in the 400 was a personal record and the fifth-fastest time in the Central Coast Section this season. Runner-up Ashlyn Boothby, a sophomore for the Falcons, also ran a PR (59.44), the ninth-best time in the CCS.

The Cougars also received wins from seniors Amaya Gordon (100; 13.21) and Anna McClaren (discus; 79-2) as well as their 4×100 relay team (53.12).

Scotts Valley received wins from juniors Amber Boothby (800; 2:25.82) and Osanne Kleijnen (triple jump; 32-5), sophomore Diana Alivov (1,600; 5:37.08) and its 4×400 relay team (4:37.29).

Mount Madonna received wins from juniors Mariah Cohen (shot put; 26-8.25) and Zoey Ocampo-Sobkoviak (high jump; 4-6), and sophomore Beatrice Miller (long jump; 15-8).

Boys track and field

Scotts Valley, Mount Madonna at SLV: SLV senior Noah Seastrom won the 100 (11.71) and 200 (23.81), and sophomore teammate Joshua Gabrielson won the 110 hurdles (17.65) and high jump (5-7) in the SCCAL meet Thursday.

The Cougars also received wins from senior Marco Evans (300 hurdles; 45.71), junior Arden Unger (long jump; 20-5), sophomore Jon McClaren (discus; 120-8), and their 4×100 relay team (46.46).

Mount Madonna junior Sky Weir won the shot put (38-9.75) and triple jump (37-7).

Scotts Valley received wins from seniors Sasha Miller (400; 56.00) and Ryder Brabo (800; 2:01.71), sophomore Mason Lantz (1,600; 4:56.24) and its 4×400 relay team (3:33.32).

Boys golf

SLV 213, Scotts Valley 215: SLV Ryan Hodge shot 1-under-par 33 to earn medalist honors at DeLaveaga Golf Course on the front nine Thursday.

Dylan Schelegle (40), James Daylen (44), Tyler Chatoff (48) and Keenan Buntz (48) also scored for the Cougars.

Joey Duncan (34), Colton Duerson (38), Benji Farquhar (44), Will Jackson (44) and Jason Dodrill (55) scored for the Falcons.

Scotts Valley faces Santa Cruz at DeLaveaga G.C. on Tuesday.

Girls lacrosse

At Scotts Valley 16, Salinas 3: Freshman Sofia Niklaus and junior Ellie Raffo each scored four goals in the Falcons’ rout Wednesday.

Falcons freshman Taylor Santos had three goals and four assists. Siena Wong scored twice and Gianna Mandujano, Payton Dufour and Emily Hulme had a goal each.
