Will Smith is wishing his onscreen and real-life pal Martin Lawrence a happy birthday.

As Lawrence turned 59 on April 16, Smith, 55, shared three photos of the pair posing together over the years to Instagram and an amusing video of the two on MTV in 1994. One throwback photo showed Smith holding a cigar in his mouth as he and Lawrence showed their firsts to the camera; the video at the end of the carousel shows the pair joking around behind the scenes on the set of the original Bad Boys movie.

In the clip, Lawrence approaches Smith while he appears to be conducting an interview as his police detective character Mike Lowrey and jokingly insists he needs help after being attacked.

"Happy Bday to my Ride or Die @martinlawrence!" Smith wrote in a caption to his post. "Me and Marty Mar are ‘bout to get on a plane and run up on y’all for @badboys, BE READY!!"

The upcoming Bad Boys movie will mark the fourth film Smith and Lawrence have costarred in together dating back to 1995's original, directed by Michael Bay. The series revolves around the adventures of two Miami police detectives Lowrey (Smith) and Marcus Bennett (Lawrence). A synopsis for the upcoming film states that the two "are back with their iconic mix of edge-of-your seat action and outrageous comedy but this time with a twist: Miami's finest are now on the run."
