Koo Stark - 1977

Koo Stark (b. 26 April 1956) is an American actress and photographer. When dating Prince Andrew, she took photos of the pursuing paparazzi taking lessons from Norman Parkinson. As a photographer, she continues to hold solo exhibitions.

Stark was photographed for the Observer Magazine for an article titled 'Stars of the Soft-Core Screen' published 9th October 1977. Actors Jane Hayden and Lisa Taylor were also photographed.

Sex movies are to the ailing British film industry what the cowboy two-reeler was to early Hollywood. In the past year 25 all-British sex films have opened in London. Despite such titles as 'Secrets of a Superstud', 'Confessions of a Driving Instructor', 'Come Play with Me', 'Under the Doctor' and 'Penelope Pulls it Off', they still rely on a nudge-nudge wink-wink attitude. 'Unmitigated rubbish' declared one of the few reviewers to pay any attention to them. But these are the films that are making the money: packing in the audiences; and, made for small budgets in record time, the rewards they bring in are spectacular. It's a sad comment on the state of Britain, the state of the cinema, and the state of mind of the audiences that a film such as 'Secrets of a Door-to-Door Salesman' should make 28 times more money than Paul Morissey's 'Flesh'. Director David Grant (among whose credits one finds 'Under the Bed') says 'we are always bringing in new blood' and on the face of it it would seem that sex films present a fair opportunity for an uninhibited young actress to establish a career.
