Kirstie Allsopp has opened up about her feelings on ageing this week as she credited 'being a little plumper' for keeping a youthful look.

The TV presenter, 51, revealed that she's conscious not to lose too much weight off her face to maintain a younger appearance since entering her fifties. 

But the mother-of-two added that she is 'fitter now than ever before' while discussing her relationship with ageing.

Kirstie turned 50 in 2021 but has now revealed that she struggles with the concept of ageing and slowing down.

Speaking with Good Housekeeping Magazine in a new interview, the Location, Location, Location presenter explained that she 'wasn't thrilled' to enter her fifties.

She told the publication: 'I don’t think I have a particularly healthy relationship with ageing. 

'When you’re younger, your metabolism is better, your skin is better and your bones are better. You get older and you’re suddenly a lot achier!

Despite feeling that she's slowed down, the beauty added: 'But I have to say, I’m probably fitter now than I’ve ever been.'

But beaming for a photoshoot alongside the interview, Kirstie looks sensational while beaming for the camera.

Her complexion is glowing as a bright palette of makeup is added, while the star's raven tresses were left to fall freely ina  sleek style.

And she credits her youthful looks to being 'plump', admitting that she doesn't like her face to look to slim.

Kirstie continued:'It does help being a little plumper because you have a bit more flesh on your face. I’m always torn between the desire to lose weight and the desire not to have it fall off my face!' 

But the presenter has recently admitted that she would be up for getting a facelift, telling Saga Magazine: 'So far I’ve been very lucky, really: I made it to 50 and my face hasn’t collapsed. But I reckon I’ve only got about another five years or so. 

'I know it’s only a matter of time before I have to think about evasive action. I will not go gently into the dark night; I will rage against the dying of the light and I will get a facelift.’

The TV personality also discussed ageism in the entertainment industry as she admitted that while it isn't something she's faced personally, she has witnessed it.

Sharing that it's 'not easy', Kirstie admitted that it's difficult not to 'fade out' as an older woman in the business, noting that it's easier for men.

It comes after Kirstie, who shares sons Bay Atlas, 16, and Oscar Hercules, 14, with her husband Ben Anderson as well as two step-children from Ben's previous relationship, recently revealed regrets she has over parenting.

The star took to Twitter to share the forcing her children to do their homework is 'one of her greatest regrets'. 

Replying to a tweet about not making young children do their homework, she wrote: 'One of the greatest regrets of my life is that I didn’t do this for my kids. 

'The tears, the time together lost, for many families homework causes real, daily unhappiness to no good end.'

She also tweeted out: 'Question, real question not reason for abuse please. 

'How much difference would it make to a teacher’s working day if the Gov said “from now on homework is reading only, no more written homework that needs marking etc”?'
