Or to give it the original title... Killer Instinct
This only recently popped into my head again after I started replaying a lot of the 2013 game, and I distinctly remember there being a fact about this in a Did You Know Gaming.
Quite frankly it's a rather blatant answer to Rambo: First Blood Part 2 but it remains just as fun to watch. Robert Patrick in his pre-Terminator 2 days is a darling and the direction is fab. But there's not a whole lot to say about this one if I'm honest.
Watched as “Behind Enemy Lines” on Prime and it was an awful print but it ended up being background noise anyway as it was so poor. It’s from the production line of Philippines director Cirio H. Santiago so I wasn’t expecting great things.
We begin with Robert Patrick and his team going all Rambo & Braddock and trying to rescue some POW and getting caught. Rob manages to escape and comes back with another team to rescue those he left behind. He gets injured and whilst recuperating another team go in to extract a prized defector but get caught. So Rob and another team go in to rescue them.
The action is standard for this type of film; the good guys…
Dig all the Cirio Santiago/Robert Patrick collaborations I’ve seen.
I also love that the one thing Vietnam War movies in this era rip off from RAMBO (First Blood Part II) is how giant, sweaty Russians are really running the whole communist operation now that the war is over.
Did not expect the ending. Damn.
