DETROIT – Kelly Stafford had a message for the Detroit Lions after their hard-fought win over Matthew Stafford and the Rams in the first playoff game at Ford Field.

Matthew Stafford spent 12 seasons as the face of the Lions franchise, and both he and his wife have been vocal about their appreciation for Detroit since he was traded to the Rams in 2021.

But this week, the Lions and the Staffords were on opposite sides.

Detroit won its first NFC North title and earned the right to host a playoff game for the first time in 30 years. The man standing in their way: None other than Stafford and his red-hot Los Angeles Rams.

I’m sure this wasn’t easy for either Kelly or Matthew Stafford. Many Lions fans were against Stafford jerseys at the stadium for this game, and Kelly Stafford made it clear she didn’t agree.

Then, when Stafford took the field on Sunday night, he was greeted with boos from a crowd that used to cheer for him. Even though he knows it’s not personal, that had to sting a little bit.

Most Lions fans have always supported Stafford, even rooting for him to win a Super Bowl at the expense of their own draft pick when he went to the Rams.

So it’s no surprise that on Monday, after the storm passed, everyone still seems to be friends.

“What a season, and for it to end at Ford Field,” Kelly Stafford posted on Instagram. “Already excited for this Rams team next season. And he will be back next year Detroit, but until then, go get you one!!!”
