F�rst Leopold,
the last ruling Prince of Lippe, was the son of Count Ernst
of Lippe-Biesterfeld and Countess Karoline of Wartensleben. He served
as a Prussian officer until 1894, and later carried the title of Chef
of the III. Bn of Infanterie-Regiment Nr.55. He died in December 1949
in Detmold.
