Broadway Stars Krysta Rodriguez and Santino Fontana Team Up for Just One Kiss

Music lovers will enjoy Hallmark Channel's newest film, Just One Kiss. Featuring Broadway stars Krysta Rodriguez and Santino Fontana, the film finds its two stars—who are total opposites—running into each other time and time again. As they get to know each other better with every encounter, they begin to fall in love. What they don't know is that their mothers have been scheming to get them together. Playing a lounge singer in the film, look for Fontana to croon classics like "Someone to Watch Over Me," "You Make Me Feel So Young," and "New York, New York" while he and Rodriguez duet on "Fly Me to the Moon" and one of my favorite classic tunes, "Something Stupid."

What is Just One Kiss about?

Mia (Rodriguez) is a college literature professor starting a new chapter with her 11-year-old daughter, Rosie, (Ava Grace Cooper) as her marriage is coming to an end. Tony (Fontana) is a lounge singer whose smooth renditions of timeless standards has gained him a legion of loyal fans. One day, Mia’s mother, Marlene, (Illeana Douglas) and Tony’s mother, Sophia, (Aida Turturro) witness a chance encounter between their daughter and son and hatch a plan. They decide to join forces for a little matchmaking, even cleverly orchestrating Mia’s move into an apartment in Tony’s building so they will continue to run into each other.

Unfortunately, it's not all smooth sailing for Mia and Tony. Complicating matters are Mia’s soon-to-be ex-husband, who isn’t ready to call it quits just yet. Both Mia and Tony are still recovering from past heartbreak, but it could be that just one kiss will lead them down the path to happily ever after.

Who stars in Just One Kiss?

Krysta Rodriguez (Mia)

The southern California native has appeared in a variety of plays and musicals including Spring Awakening, In the Heights and The Addams Family, where she originated the role of Wednesday in the show which had a tryout run in Chicago before moving to Broadway.

Rodriguez has also appeared on TV shows, including Smash!, Quantico and Chasing Life.

Santino Fontana (Tony)

TV audiences may recognize Santino Fontana from his role as Greg Serrano on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. He also voiced Prince Hans in Frozen. Fontana has won a number of awards for several of his musicals and plays, including a Tony for Outstanding Actor in a Lead Role for the musical, Tootsie.

Illeana Douglas (Marlene)

Named after Princess Illeana of Romania, Douglas got her break doing automated dialogue replacement (ADR) work on Martin Scorsese's Last Temptation of Christ when the film was being edited down the hall from the office where she worked. The editor on the film asked her to help out with some audio and it was while recording that she met Scorsese, who later cast her in a role in New York Stories.

Aida Turturro (Sophia)

Aida Turturro is best known for her role as Tony Soprano's sister, Janice, on The Sopranos. She has guest starred on a variety of shows, including Nurse Jackie, Blue Bloods and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. She's cousins with fellow actors John Turturro and Nicholas Turturro.

Ava Grace Cooper (Rosie)

Fans of When Calls the Heart will easily recognize Cooper, who plays Opal on the long-running Hallmark Channel series. She has appeared on various TV shows and films including iZombie, Mingle All the Way, A Summer Romance and Beyond.
