Juliana of Stolberg (15 February 1506 – 18 June 1580) was the wife of William I, Count of Nassau-Dillenburg and the mother of William the Silent. Born in Stolberg, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany (then a part of the Holy Roman Empire) in 1506, Juliana was the daughter of Bodo VIII, Count of Stolberg-Wernigerode and Anna of Eppstein-Konigstein. Juliana converted from Catholicism to Lutheranism and then Calvinism, and she was married to Philipp II, Count of Hanau-Munzenberg before remarrying to William the Silent after her previous husband's 1529 death. Juliana kept close to her children for her entire life, and she financed her son William's "Dutch Revolt" in the Spanish Netherlands, enabling him to fight against Spanish control of the Low Countries. She died in 1580 at the age of 74.
