Julia Has Two Lovers

While this tale of romance on the telephone has an interesting story concept, the conversation itself drags on for too long, leading to the film's uneven and frequently too-slow pace.

Julia (Daphna Kastner), an attractive but somewhat frustrated woman, has lived with her lover Jack (David Charles) for two years. When he unexpectedly asks her to marry him, she stalls. As Jack leaves for work, Julia answers the phone and encounters an amicable young man, Daniel (capably played by David Duchovny).

Julia soon finds herself drawn to Daniel, who apparently has dialed the wrong number. Neither of them wants to hang up. They spend the morning together following their daily routines, telling each other about themselves. Inevitably (and finally), she invites Daniel over for lunch. At this point (nearly two-thirds into the film), the story begins to take new twists, adding considerably more interest.
